Had to quit job due to PAWS

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, May 9, 2019.

  1. Now you may say that i'm a loser or i lost my famous nofap streak but guys what i want to say it's: this is a serious addiction, paws are real like every other drug and after all this time i've been fighting it i relapsed this year (as it happens with people detoxifing from drugs). I want just to say these things to help others, be aware guys. Definetely the world must know the truth about porn

  2. yes man but you know what? I'm happy i relapsed, i lost every hope i would ever get better (i was even questioning i was feeling shitty because of porn withdrawals ) and when i relapsed i realised i was still addicted and i should just continue fighting. That being said guys, take my story and do not make the same errors ;)

I don't understand why you are trying to make claim here that safe to say somebody unrecoverable . We all are here to make each other feel that we can rewire our brain leave porn . Please Don't try to make unwanted claims .

  4. exactly man , this 90 days thing it's aahahahah a total bullshit. What do u do when u hit 90 days? Fap to celebrate? ahahah
btw you're right i think most of the people never fully recover

  5. yes everyone can heal! 100 x 100 sure! Only thing it's time but everyone can!!!

  6. Well on the positive side we have seen barely any 3 year reports. Once those start coming in we will get a much better idea of whether people make permanent recoverys or not.

    So
So basically you started nofap 12 months ago and 5 months ago you started relapseing and the symptoms you telling are just same while in porn symptoms . That's what I want to clear that it's not 19 months throughout streak and still somebody gets paws it's like somebody is still relapseing quite a often on PMO and trying to tell brothers that it's very tough to continue streak so beware . Got it bro .

I get it bro. I quit my job almost 2 years ago when I was starting to break free from the addiction. You could say that going sober made me wise up to how much I was getting screwed over working there. Too much work too little pay. It was well worth it. I took a year off and did some traveling. Got to see and experience a lot of new things. Now I recently landed a job that pays 3 times as much as what I used to make. Trust your intuition and do what FEELS right

  9. Lmao, that was the most presumptuous post I've seen so far.

Good job, mate. That must have taken some effort.

  10. man as i said: i started nofap 3 years ago, the first year it was more a try, fail repeat, after one year of these "try fail repeat" (exactly 19 months ago) i took it more seriously and didn't relapsed at all for 12 months more or less... did you understand?
Also i wouldn't get a prize for having a perfect 19 months nofap streak, i've been feeling bad for 19 months and in the last few months i relapsed, but withdrawals never stopped, that's the only thing it matters and the message of help i want to share.
anyway numbers are important only to give people hope and a general idea but don't focus too much on it, main thing it's to heal!
have u ever seen an alcohol addict saying "it's been 3 years and 4 months i've not been drinking"? No, if he does if will inevitably fail because the focus is still on drinking, whether you heal or not! That's it

Indeed. My body's chemical imbalance doesn't give a F about my purpose. I have symptoms in windows and waves, and everytime I have a window I get a little fired up and start making future plans and go outside and shit. But while in a symptoms-wave, this all gets crushed HARD and it's all gone again.

I can definitely confirm that 90 day mark is arbitrary bullshit. I get over physical symptoms like flu, headaches, wild mood swings, insomnia after 3-4 months of monk mode, but that's also the time when PAWS start, especially depression, general anxiety, panic attacks, anhedonia and these are much worse to endure than cravings and physical pain. Being totally disciplined doing daily exercise routine, eating healthy, getting enough sun, sleeping well helps big time in removing PAWS from my daily life, but make no mistake about it: whenever I neglect my daily routine just for couple of days, PAWS slowly creep back and get worse and worse.

Okay, this is something you'll need to think about: how are you going to keep busy?

Maybe it's a good time to work on a novel (if you're into writing)

It might be a good time to become grounded in God if you're not already.

    Seriously, prayer is powerful.

You're going to feel a lot of emotions in your situation. You need to become aware of and okay with your emotions. How do you do that? You write them down (or express them through story telling or any artwork) and then you give them to God. What does that mean? It means stepping out on faith that your emotions, no matter how much they hurt, have no control over your spirit.

  14. Dunno what country you live in but in the UK wages are pathletic and the cost of living keeps going up.

My friends a legal advisor and even he struggles financially, the majority of us in the UK have no hope in hell of buying a house.

We are becoming like a eastern European quality of life.

Yeah, I've come across points in my journey where literally the only thing I could do was pray pray pray.. And then even that was very hard because my brain couldn't keep focussed on my story I was telling to God. After about 1,5 sentence I just sighed and no more words came out of my mouth.

Don't want to get very political but personally think this is why eatern Europeans are the ones that started rejecting E.U. legislation... Because they have experienced being part of a bloc and don't want that again..

Off topic but living life of Eastern European isn't as horrible as it sounds. I used to work in Frankfurt and Brussels, but I left it for low profile 4 times less paid job and 1 hour drive to Alps and Mediterranean sea. Life is 2-3 times cheaper here, work hours are normal, food very good, crime rates near zero plus quite friendly people… Standard of living is not just about money, it's so much more than that.

  17. Bro, are you praying right?

It sounds like you are praying things that you think God would want to hear, instead of what's actually on your heart.

For example, I've told God that I'm extremely upset that porn is a bad thing because it FEELS SO GOOD. Like, what the hell, God, why does this pleasure have to be so bad for me!?

Dont try tomake your prayers sound good. Just show God where your heart is. HE KNOWS YOUR HEART ANYWAY.

Normally when I pray I just say the things that come up in my mind and heart as they are, yes.. :)
