Why am I leaving NoFap; The truth about this community

Nofap is like AA. It helps you improve your life and doesn't have to become your new addiction. You come here with a problem, you can talk about it in a safe space and talk to people that share your problems and also want to improve their lives. Saying that we people in nofap are wasting our time means you have (in your own little world) better things to do. I don't have to know you nor your activities to know you enjoy them, but if other people enjoy NoFap shouldn't you just leave them the f*ck alone? I mean, you can't just criticize other people because you're frustrated with your life and have a lot of bitterness inside yourself.
We spend lots and lots of time doing things like going to parties, reading, watching movies, listening to music, watching social media, etc. that we have to ask ourselves if what we're doing with our time is really what we want to do to make us happy. And I have come to the conclusion that NoFap has helped me as a kind of AA which has made me improve in a lot of areas of life. If you want to leave nofap no one will force you to stay, whoever wants to leave just f*cking leave alright?

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if this guy who calls himself "Is Porn really that bad?" is someone from all the media that profits from porn (like psychology today and men's health that practically make ads for porn) and hates the NoFap.

Story of life, there are winner and losers, there are people who will do what they envisioned and weak ones who just talk for attention. Want to leave? Don't let the door hit you on the way out, want to succeed? Do it, even if fail many times stay at it.

I will not take much seriously in this thread, it's off topic anyways.

I think we as a community lack a bit of compassion. It's not nice to say to someone who plan to quit "yeah, go already, we don't need you, etc."

I quit this community three times, the last time I was expelled. People here can be pretty arrogant, mean and intolerant.

Am I the only one who felt for the guy at the hospital, what if it was true? Can anyone here be sure?

Anyway... the memes are fun, I hope everyone are having a good time. OP seemed pretty serious though, and I have no sense of humour, so I empathize with him.

Now, about what he wrote, that we traded a meaningless activity for another, I see more like someone who's alcoholic and starts caring for plants at his garden. It's the same meaningless stuff but at least one that does less harm.

I know OP will come someday because I left and came back to this site many times, I have some grief for the people who sent me out the first time I quit after my relapse.

 

I have to ask, how and why were you "expelled" from NoFap? I'm curious to know why you have a less than positive opinion of the community, on the whole I haven't had many problems and am interested to hear what yours are/were.

 

Pretty normal situation. I relapsed, was on a kind of flatline, stopped believing the whole thing. Then I logged here and started spreading my despair, saying NoFap is not worth, how moronic some people here are, and this was enough. Next thing I know I am banned from the site next day. Tried to log in more 3 or 4 times then give up for real. Relapsed for months.

I said too something I believe to this date: some very famous profiles here are fake. Normal users here, most are losers, egoists, I checked some profiles, they log in only to help people. They seem not to have a fight of their own. As time goes by you'll realize this too.

 

I sometimes get the same feeling, that a lot of the "success stories" are either made up or greatly exaggerated, nowadays I only trust things that can actually be proven with some sort of evidence or at least seems rational. Its one thing to be inspired and motivated and another to be fooled by idealistic bullshit.

The main thing that bothers me is sometimes the advice given by people is either so generic that its meaningless, or is just outright rudeness disguised as "tough love". I got accused of being a baby and throwing a tantrum because I asked for advice in the self-improvement section, like that would actually help me at all and not just make me think the poster was a dick.

 

I find it extremely weird, I've seen people get ridiculed or told they're stupid for tying to help and the ones asking simple or serious questions. I try to help people and keep an open mind as to what they're going through, but it's disheartening to see them get treated that way sometimes.

I have never belittled or made fun of someone for a serious question or them needing help, sorry you had to go through that mate.

Some of you need to start acting like you have some balls, I know not everyone has self confidence but in this day of age we are surrounded by people who feel entitled and victimized once something doesn't go the way they've intended. We all came here looking for ways to fight our addiction but it's up to you to win it.

 

Well to be fair this has only happened a few times and doesnt bother me that much, it just gets me wondering where some people on the forums get off acting the way they do. I still believe NoFap works of course but some of the more puritanical and overzealous members of this community make us all look like a bunch of asylum inmates sometimes.

@Immature did you read my post. How can you tell if it's not a real person in an hospital bed? I know this thread started off as a joke, but I sincerely didn't expect so many harsh comments from our "community". Imagine you have something important to say and people just dismiss you saying you're a troll and despising you because you said you would leave?

@5speed I know victimization is bad. But being on a reboot is hard and it's a process that weakens some people. Some people lose hope after relapsing many times and then they quit. Seems exactly the situation here. And instead of offering help, people throw stones. Yeah, I agree it's very manly to do that.

I saw one his posts somewhere, went to his profile page and checked out a few others, then looked at his last post which brought me here.

And yes he is a troll. And a massively successful one: he made 2 or 3 posts on this thread and other members made 115. And I assume the other 115 are arguing with each other, or are all responding to 3 week old posts. And now I'm doing it too!
