First, porn addiction may become a real issue, I have no doubt.
But I'm leaving this forum and porn addiction based sites FOR GOOD!

    Why?
Not saying it was waste of my time; because it wasn't. It would however become one if I decided to stay here for any longer.
And now I'm writing this short post because someone might think about it and make wise decision after me sending this post.

    What makes me to leave:
What I've found here is that VAST MAJORITY (95%>...) if not ALL of the active forum contributors are people with roughly several hundreds if not few thousands of posts WITHIN ONE YEAR!
But wait, here's more: these posts are LONG! Not to mention time these people spend on reading another long posts on the forum.

    But wait!
    Why would I care?

    Well let me tell you.
You should care BECAUSE it shows how boring one's life can be.
Yes. These people have so boring lives that posting on such forums is one of the best activities they can participate on regular basis.
And this is insane! Not having enough REAL problems in their lives makes them to spend hours and hours surfing the internet and viewing insignificant content that impairs condition of their brains making them to look for a problems so they could have a sense of their miserable lives and find some internet mates to chat with about their "great work" because they kept themselves busy for sake of being busy just to not masturbate for 17 days.

    WOW!

Doesn't matter whether it's facebook, snapchat, some conspiracy/fake moon landing forum... or NoFap; they do not differ from themselves.

    Why?
NoFap has a very noble course (has it?), just like the rest of them; but they apparently not working very well because they congregate wrong people, very prone to focus on trifles instead of reality.

    Think about that for a moment;
People are DYING all over the world because they have no food, water, because of wars... And you? I'm going to guess that ALL of you have at least bearable conditions in life so you have a place to sleep, food in your fridge...
And that's where your ignorance, lack of intelligence and gratefulness shows up; you're trying to persuade yourself that your life is shit because you enjoy watching people fucking on your screen.

    Just what the *duck*

Holy crap! I must admit; the fact of you watching pornography/masturbating is worse than dying from blood loss or suffering hunger for years, and you also have a great reason to fell ashamed and/or guilty; what if you were the one who's a thief, rapist or a murderer? Phew, that's nothing! You're watching actors fucking on your screen!! THAT is a reason for feeling shame or guilt!

No. My life isn't that boring to engage in this kindergarten.
And yes, there are people who are truly addicted and this site SHOULD be helping them, but I'm afraid it isn't.... Because it's flawed; most of the informations here are opinions, not scientific facts.

    At least try to think.
Is this normal to... Hmmm.... Keep yourself busy just for sake of being busy... Just to avoid boredom... So you can hold off and not do this thing that your beloved internet mates told you not to do because in their opinions it's bad?

It's up to you to come up with the answer...
I'm aware that most of you won't get it. And that's fine. Your reality, opinion or anything won't affect MY reality :p
I am however hopeful that at least one person will leave this thread illuminated and truly inspired to stop giving a *duck* about bullshits on facebook, NoFap, tv and all of these fell good guru's phrases about what's good and what's bad.
(No, females DO NOT like bad boys and no, they don't care about your pseud lifestyle design showing how interesting type of person you are...)

    And finally...
I can tell you something if you like to taste my life a little.
I assume you're reading this somewhere in the middle of the day and have nothing to do this evening or afternoon.
(Well certainly you don't, otherwise you'd not be reading this right now...)
If you're up for a little challenge then go for it:
Close your eyes for a moment and IMAGINE yourself lying in a hospital bed after some horrible accident that made you lose feeling in both arms and legs.
    But wait, that's not all!
Your whole family, relatives and best friends have died.... You are the only survivor.
Now doctor tells you that you'll be disabled for ever, and YOU know that there's really no one to look after you now...

Now open you freaking eyes and wake up.
Wow, you are healthy... How come.
But you were never grateful about this fact, were you?
Hoping that weather behind your window is tolerable I want you to go out for a stroll and think about other things you can be grateful for. Could be some basic stuff like food, clothes... Eyes... This beautiful lawn... The fact that you're alive... Whatever.
Now when you get back read through some bullshit sites persuading you that you are complete loser just because you enjoy doing whatever you're enjoying to do - in this case, watching hot babes appearing on your screen.
After you finish, laugh your ass off about how ungrateful and stupid these scribbles are.

That's it. I am not an idiot and I doubt if there'll be at least few who will do what I've suggested on this site... But hey, who knows...
And one more - courage is doing things you're afraid of.

Best wishes preluded with my cold shower rant!

PS: This post is NOT for real porn addicts - watching porn few times a week is not an addiction BUT watching it at school in the toilet, at work... or any other public places... everyday... every few hours... unfortunately isn't normal. If you're the one that's addicted - don't take my rant to your heart (apart of the part of being grateful for what you've already got)

You seem pretty bitter there. Don't look down on people trying to better themselves just because it isn't for you. I also don't use the site very much but that's no reason to look down on others who are finding it easier to interact with others, are finding new hobbies, are sorting themselves out etc.

Also there is scientific evidence to support that deciding to do something (challenging yourself) and sticking it out no matter how hard it gets (take the 90 day reboot for example) and succeeding in what you were determined to do will do nothing but positively benefit and strengthen you.

I see that you failed to complete the 90 day reboot from your post history, my advice to you would be to take the 90 day reboot challenge, complete it, and THEN leave once you have completed it. Otherwise your post is just an excuse for your own shortcomings.

I agree with what you're saying but that doesn't mean you have to leave this site. Your right getting addicted to this site is just like being addicted to porn there both bad. The point of this site is to read a couple of success stories so you will quit porn if it is destructive to your life. I am here to learn what porn addiction is and see if it affected by this. If you are using this site as a replacement for porn that deserves its own site LOL

Hi, I think you have hit on some truths (in that this site could potentially become an avenue for time-wasting, and that there are a few "hobbyists" on here that could be doing something more productive). However, I think you're missing a bigger piece of the puzzle. Porn/porn addiction is impairing people's ability to appreciate and fully utilize their life, they recognize this, and they're taking a brave decision to stop it so they can live fully and be grateful for all the things you described. Yes, a lot of the posts on this website are opinions, but that itself is important because it allows people to collaboratively explore their experiences and see commonality in suffering (instead of feeling they are suffering alone). This place is also an important repository of fact and the science of addiction, and validated advice on how to tackle something extremely difficult to overcome. I think you should complete the 90 day challenge first (with/without forum help) and post to let us know if your opinion has changed after that.

I see this post to be a mere excuse for lack of self control. I admit that it's not that easy to abstain from porn after you get used to it. But it's not impossible. And getting rid of porn addiction doesn't mean that you have to addict to something new . Replace it with some habit which improves your health or something which is beneficial to you. Use this forum as a platform for changing yourself rather than logging in this forum for 24 hours. Read others stories and try to learn what are those habits with which they have quit watching porn. And there is no need to compare yourself with others. You are trying to improve your self control. You should be actually glad for it.

So you're pointing out that people here in NoFap are so into this site, that they are losing awareness/gratefulness on how life can be? You don't get the whole idea of it.
there are real people here with real problems about this addiction that's getting into their way of living decently. so, they come here to seek for help and advises so that they can go back to their lives, and be grateful for "food, clothes... Eyes... This beautiful lawn... The fact that they're alive... Whatever" and what life has to offer. and not for "hot babes appearing on your screen"

That is a great reason to be in NoFap. To know that you are a fortunate person. has something to eat, has a peaceful place to live. and doing actions to make it more sensible/meaningful rather than drowning yourself in lust and dirty stuff.

And then there's the time you spent to write this very long exit message. Wondering, besides the fact you also took time to write this long thing, if you really are doing it for others or to justify your own actions and give yourself a pat on the back for giving up.

Well I agree that this site should not replace your PMO addiction with a "NOFAP - addiction". I also agree with you that there is a lot of "pseudoscience" on this forum, and many "benefits" are just based on some personal stories and far away from being scientific consensus.

You mentioned quite a few serious problems like people starving and so on, concluding that our problems are quite small in comparison. Again I agree. But honestly, that's what nearly everybody does in society, they have small problems and complain about them frequently, because they are not quite contend with their lives. That has really nothing to do with NOFAP, but could be criticism towards nearly everybody.

I hope you can acknowledge that people with a higher level of maturity and self control will probably be more benefical to society than people who are just a mess seeing others as a means to their own happiness. And that is for many a big part of NOFAP, becoming the best version for youself, being able to have healthier relationships that are ultimately benefical to everybody in their lives. Self improvment is really the first step to improve things arround you, that is what nofap is about.

If you leave this site, because you want to focus on stopping these people from starving that you mentioned and nofap is stealing your time, I completely agree with you. If you don't then I hope your other activities are more benefical to society than trying to get away from a sex addiction that hinders people from loving others properly.

Greetings, and blessings to you brother

Its still better to spend an hour on a forum then watching porn, if you value your time so much then you won't have time to PMO either. As for people dying from stravation and lack of water, its sad but so is it when people kill themselves due to depression. If the forum helped somebody make a lifestyle change its done enough, it doesn't need to save the world to be justified to exist.

  16. Minimization, denial, justification, rationalization, and lying your post reeks of.

So, do whatever you want to but don't for a second claim you know the truth. If I really cared I would type out a few pages dissecting your mind and why you posted this but Idfc.

That was a long post too wasn't it? Maybe come back when you understand the importance of making distinctions instead of taking a few facts along with a bunch of assumptions. We could talk about slippery slopes and strawman arguments but clearer use of the English language is essential.

Guess what, you may not be the first to make such astute observations, but then you can only know that if you're not exclusively focused on your own thoughts and assumptions.

Frankly it's being a bit of a wanker, as our friends in the UK say.

Specifically it's a kind of online social wanking, since there is a bit of drama around leaving and never coming back. It is rather reminiscent of Jerry Springers final thoughts. Jerry had some useful things to say, but it's only final for that episode.

Just as masturbation involves one person and their fantasy, so do such one way declarations involve only their thoughts even if rhetorical questions are used.

Of course, nobody would know if you lurk after making such a declaration and for that matter if the author registets under a new account.

I mean what are we to expect, people being in awe and dropping to their knees at the wisdom of the poster crying "don't leave you have so much to teach us!"?
