Hello all, I’ve been visiting this site off and on for a couple years too afraid of posting anything about my all to common issue... Porn addiction... it’s something I’ve been dealing with for over 17 years and I’m only 26. My brothers and I discovered my father's porn stashed as kids and since then as kids I’ve been hooked. I’ve been attempting to break away from porn for about 10 years now... I’ll go a couple of months, then I’ll relapse again... over and over and over... I finally attributed the pornography addiction to dealing with stress and anxiety...Parents had marriage issues, and like any kid you think you’re the reason for those problems... used porn to run away and cope with my frustrations as a child and that has followed me to adult hood. Porn has always created a separate world where none of my problems existed.... Now I’m married to the love of my life, this woman means everything to me. But she doesn’t know anything about my current addiction. I thought being married would help and curve my desires for porn but it hasn’t .... so now I’m bringing it all to the open on here.. venting to get this off my chest.. She deserves more and I’ve dreamed of the day where I wasn’t plagued by this disgusting addiction... I’m going to continue visiting this site daily in order to gain the motivation and encouragement needed to get finally put this behind me! Sorry that I made you guys read all of that !
Welcome to NoFap. Indeed, try to be at your best for the sake of your wife. She deserves to have you at your best, right? I'm glad that you've recognized the real problem here. The problem is not pornography-- that's merely a symptom of the problem. The real problem is the anxiety and stress. Perhaps you could talk to a doctor and see what he/she would recommend as far as treatment. Anxiety can be treated.
