I broke my porn habit but I still look at women objectifyingly?

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by BeachDude1992, Sep 11, 2015.

  1. I haven't watched porn for the last 50+ days. I don't want to even click on Porn EVER. I removed my pornfilter in my PC because I have self-control and I am willing to not watch porn at all. However, when I go to the beach and a woman is wearing bikini or anything revealing, I still look at her boobs, ass, camel toe.lol Is this normal? Or is it still a habit that is stuck in my head?

With that kind of temptation, I don't see how it would be possible not to check out the girls. Beach doesn't sound like the easiest place to deal with visual urges/objectification when you are staring down yet another surprisingly attractive camel toe.

Do you act the same way in a corporate environment where it should be strictly business? You might find it a better assay to try a workgroup or other goal oriented group where you are task focused on something that isn't so overtly and intentionally sexual. See if you can complete a very difficult intellectual task with a decent looking woman without your mind constantly reorienting toward objectification.

It's normal! Porn aside, women are beautiful so men look at them. It's nature's path to reproduction. I can't imagine that refraining from porn will suddenly stop you admiring the female form. You may start admiring the person, and their mind, as well as their body!

I suppose its a additional layer to your training. It can be a thought process to eliminate from your mind in order to maintain a more healthy view of things if it is particularly bad, call it rehabilitation stage two i guess.

If you can manage it and nobody comes to harm or discomfort about it then so long as you keep it to you and you don't slide back into old habits it would be fine in my opinion i guess too. Lots of people hold thoughts that other people may not like to their chests, but so long as they keep it to themselves they function in normal society no differently and nobody gets hurt. (lets not make the distinction between free speech restriction and decency in withholding opinions here before this gets taken out of context please)

Being attracted to sexy women you see walking by is normal AND is not objectification. Objectification comes from your actions. If you're whistling, cat calling, partaking in the porn industry, etc etc, that is objectification. Don't feel guilty for looking at hot girls. If you're respectful and treating them like human beings/equals, then you know, you're not doing anything wrong man lol.

I get that feeling though, I've felt the same way, I'm trying to quit P, but it's summer time and everywhere I look there's girls with these little shorts and transparent tops, and when they walk by, it's like, intelligent thoughts gone, gorilla brain active. Not much you can do about that. Just control your behavior, and don't feel guilty. It's not the same as P.

As others have said, Finding a person sexually attractive isn't objectifying them, Its how you treat them in person that matters. Thats how the sex drive naturally works.

It's normal, nofap won't suddenly kill your libido or sexual preferences. Quite the opposite in fact, you find it should go up. As others suggested the benefit comes when you start appreciating women's inner beauty as well as their external beauty too.

If you're ogling and leering and fantasizing, looking at her sexually, that means you are objectifying. It's totally okay to be attracted to someone but it's not okay for you to do any of which I mentioned. Alot of people when no longer looking at porn feel the need to ogle and ect.. To fill the void of porn. By trying to look and ogle as much as possible we can get that dopamine fix by just trying to check out and fill the novelty we used to fill during porn. If you can't stop staring at her "boobs", "ass" and "camel toe" you are objectifying her sexually. Just saying if that's where your eyes lead you, you need to work on that. As a person (woman as well) I can fucking tell when a dude is looking at my tits and thinks I won't notice. Comon, really? I used to be the same way towards men and women, it's a disgusting habit. But by forcing myself to not look at the body parts I found sexual and think this person is not mine to leer or ogle, they are a human being with feelings, fears, life goals, possibly with a family. Not eye candy. I no longer have that awful habit and look at people only with kindness. Stay strong and good luck!

  9. Congratz on going so far with this! Keep going, embrace the journey and reboot my friend!

Realistically speaking, since the beginning of time, we are drawn towards the opposite sex. In my opinion, it's okay to look at girls (it's just the direction of your pupils). Of course, there's a point of going too far, where is the line drawn? You probably guessed it, it has something to do with your mind.

You see a girl and you find her attractive, good. Acknowledge it and move on, maybe a little voice in your head will go "wow". It's all fine in my opinion. When do things start going bad? Where do you cross the line? When you use the image you perceived for sexual fantasies and you start having sex with her in your head, without even knowing her or having any form or connection (this just makes things worse), you're objectifying her as a sexual object and that is not good.

Those attractive girls are no different from regular girls, nor are they different from you. We are all PEOPLE with personalities, lives and many other values! They are far more than objects for sex, they are far more than their bodies and looks. Look at them as people! Go talk with them, interact with them, communicate, form friendships and relationships... that's when you "subjectify" the world in front of you and develop a good, clean mindset! Not only will your social life get better, but you'll become a better person. Good luck!

  10. Objectifyingly isn't a word. I think you meant to say "objectively."

Is it that obvious? Damn! A lot of women must be thinking I'm a creep for leering at them.

I still find it hard not to look sometimes, I'm not saying I ogle at them or anything but I feel even a few seconds is too long.

I would have loved to know what the best way is to look at boobs without the woman noticing but I'm trying to avoid doing it at all costs. So, I'll restrain myself.

*note to self* She knows. She always does.

Um no. Just because I have large breasts and like wearing regular shirts or tanks does not mean I want you to stare. That's creepy. No one is your eye candy.

I wasn't addressing the female sex. I did not say stare, I said look... so don't put words in my mouth. And I also could care less if u think its creepy or not. Coz I'm a man if we are really horny and we see almost entirely exposed boobs we may lose control and be forced to OOGLE. If u don't like it then don't wear that kinda stuff. I NEVER SAID EYE CANDY. LOL??? WHere u getting this from miss?

I'm pretty sure you can control yourself. No one is forcing anything on you, that's bullshit. It's called self control and discipline. Which you need to fight any addiction. Stop rationalizing.
