And that's the crux right there. It gives off the impression that "I know more about the world than every philosopher and scientist who has helped build the foundation of thought that we have today. And that is a good question: why does one feel the need to convince everyone of something like flat earth? It really goes no further than to answer this question from a psychological standpoint. In an attempt to compensate for their own insecurities, these so-called "truthers" gravitate towards the conspiracy theory because it's like an alternate world where they can have a 1-up on people with their mysterious and elite "knowledge". They muddy the waters of proof, doubt, fact, and fiction, sometimes subconsciously, to guard the integrity of the knowledge in which they hold so dear. And when confronted with enough rational thought to combat their view to the point that they have no answer for you, they don't want anything to do with you anymore. Hence the "ignore list" and/or "get off my thread". So you see, they are not so much trying to convince or help anyone with this knowledge. Rather, they are trying to show off that they are smarter than us when, quite frankly, we never asked for this validation in the first place. Again, a lot of the times it's just subconsciously, but they are overcompensating for some conflict of inner peace within themselves that they have yet to overcome. When you look at it this way, it kind of makes you feel bad for them.
Do not underestimate us, the flat earth society, as we have members all around the globe! Good motivator tho to give the internet a rest for a while...
No, it isn't. UFO = Unidentified flying object, if you know it's a saucer then you've identified it, so it's just a FO.
