    So I've been thinking.
Why Us? Not victimizing ourselves, but hear me out.
There are some men out there who are not at all affected by PMO. Some even says that it gives them energy.
People like me and those on this forum however feel the full effect after PMO.
Symptoms include, but are not limited to: social awkwardness, weak voice, shy, social anxiety, can't make eye contact, cloudy head, can't focus on task/studying, memory sucks, senses blunted, poor range of emotions (just flat or depressed), physical weakness, laziness and etc...

Case 1: although my brother and I don't openly talk about PMO, but I'm sure he does a fair share. However, his memory is 100%, no social awkwardness, good mood, and is even going to Harvard medical school.

Case 2: so many people out their deny millions of people that post here on how they are suffering. They are so adamant that nofap is not a real thing. They go as far as calling this a cult... Like why on earth would a grown man spend countless hours on a forum looking for ways to cut PMO and to write their testimonies on it. How do you get hundred thousands of people to do that. But these people are so adamant bc of their own experiences. Simply, they can NOT identify with any of the symptoms listed above or on the forum.

So why are some select pool of men have this issue?
Feel free to add your 2-cents
    1) Low testosterone: mine was 360 (normal range 348-1197). Has anyone here gotten their T-levels check in their last blood work?
    2) Genetics: my dad is addicted to gambling. He's slowed down but really wrecked family finances in the early 2000's. His dad might've been addicted to alcohol.
    3) Started high speed internet porn at young age: Me = age 12? Masterbated since age 9?

Something I DON'T think it is
    1) Personal guilt: I've seen a psychologist and asked me if I associate with a church and I said yes, and he replied "mmm, well that just might be it". Like these symptoms are not a manifestation of personal guilt.
    2) There is scientific evidence on the over production of prolactin, oxytocin, progesterone, dopamine, ST, delta FosB and much more that leads us to be brain dead in the following days. These symptoms are not experienced by some people, bc even if they experience 2 out of 100 symptoms listed on this site, they can suspect that it's not just a fad.

There has to be something since not every male out their experiences similar side effects.

  2. So it seems like some folks can control and enjoy lust, porn, masturbation etc and other (like us) get porn and lust addiction..

  3. Because the specific addiction itself is just a symptom of an underlying imbalance.

I can see how some people are convinced it's a fad and so forth, because frankly rebooting is sort of addiction recovery 'light'. Of course a lot of those people would probably make fun of mock some of the other process/behavioral addictions out there too for the simple reason that they can't see it as being an issue, which is frankly egocentric thinking.

There are a lot of factors that go into it, I think it has more to do with the individuals relationship to addiction and the rest of their life context. I will say that it is also possible for someone to be totally caught up in a certain kind of behavior without even realizing it much less that it can be an addiction. PMO being related to sex has the stigma so it's easy to consider it as wrong and problematic, a subtler example from personal experience is codependency. I think it's entirely possible that some people have issue but they just don't consider it as an issue.

Also don't underestimate people's capacity to compartmentalize things in their mind.

  4. Low Testosterone for me. Mine just tested at 150dg/L so way below normal range!
Sometimes I wonder if I was born intersex …
But I also struggle with addiction in general.
Plus introverted. And very little male influence during early development. So, didn’t know how to be a man, and was socially awkward. Tended to just be friends with the hot girls … but stayed put in the friend zone.

I honestly don't think it's how individual people perceive their guilt or lack there of. I for example have seasons where I don't feel overly guilty. However, I still can NOT escape my social awkwardness. I literally struggle to find words. My voice is so weak that it cracks sometimes as if i'm going through puberty. I have muscle and joint aches. Sometimes there is an intractable headache throughout the day. Extremely fatigue even with 8 hours of sleep where my body demands a nap (even as I drive).

What I am curious on is not a subjective experience or how they perceive their emotions but the sequelae of PMO that people can't avoid. Like why does this happen to only a handful of people? What is the reason for it?
I'm sure it's still a mystery in the scientific community, but there has to be something.

You had a great streak, have you tested prior to the start of your streak vs more recent? 150 is in the lower range and you should go see your doctor. Also may be increased risk for infertility. So I would def recommend you getting that checked out.
Also, how do you feel with social awk and other symptoms after not doing PMO for >1 year? Any more mainly features? (better muscle growth, more confidence, better hair growth, deeper voice, etc?)

  7. Any SSA?

  8. I don't think you'll find a single cause. It could be enough of the factors already listed can contribute but in various combinations, again if it is the symptom it's like asking what the cause of headaches is.

  9. More confidence, less social awkwardness. My streak is from porn, not masturbation or fantasy. It feels good knowing that my computer/ browser history isn’t full of porn!
Physically, I get best when I was doing hard mode for 100+ days. My hair and muscle development is normal, but I do have a small penis.
I have resisted testosterone therapy. I imagine I’d get pretty ripped if I started that and hit the gym!

  10. No. Not really anyway. I can get fixated on c*cks, and might call myself hetero flexible, but my main attraction, by far, is towards women.
