Who is smarter, man or woman?

Well, there is also, apparently not even english in this place.

 

That is gold. Exactly my thought, we are learning how we function or if not successful, how we aren't. I still see a risk in the development of A.I. as humanity f*cked up many things historically, but it is nothing that is inhuman.

About the consumer-manipulation: Yup, that's more of a threat than A.I. development at this point. Making people think certain things by altering algorithms to show exclusive information so someone. I get that one likes to see commercials of things that actually interest them, but very few think of the price they pay for that, which is to have no access to a broader pool of information, to then analyze what you can trust or what not to trust, altering opinions.

If you market it the right way, people will happily give away their anonymity and private information, they delude themselves, because the truth is hard to swallow and the probable outcome even worse, so better not think about that! In the end it's a matter of in whom hands this technology will fall, those who try to deceive you for profit, politicians or the general public, of which I don't know which is worse.

Set-Up by the right people, A.I. can be great, but who decides what kind of personality an A.I. should have? What kind of morals it should follow? The ten commandments? Really stuff to think about deeply.

 

Well I'm a woman, and respectfully, I think that's dumb. Women are not inherently smarter than men, nor are men inherently smarter than women. Some women are smarter than some men, and some men are smarter than some women. I will absolutely never understand why people continue to generalize entire populations of people into one category just based on things like gender, race, sexuality, etc. Makes no sense to me. I've met some pretty idiotic women in my days, and I've also met some pretty idiotic men. And brilliant men and women as well. It baffles me that this even needs to be said. And it's sad to me that you seem to think once "the girls" see this we will all jump on board and agree that women are smarter. That, again, is making the assumption that everyone is the same because of their gender. Just because we are both women does not mean that I am going to agree with you.

 

IGY is right, multitasking is said to be bad for your brain. And I'm a woman, so maybe that will make my opinion more valid to you than his was, even though we said the same thing.

But seriously, that's not an opinion or just some flippant comment he made. It's scientific and pretty well-studied. You can find plenty of videos on the subject if you care to look.

 

Who is smarter? Neither, we are all smart and stupid at the same time. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses... I've found women are smarter in the cutting of hair and men are smarter when it comes to repairing boilers. My ex was smarter than me when it came to healthy eating and I was smarter than her when it came to theology.
Why do we have to be attacking each other like this? Why can't we accept people's strengths and weaknesses?

 

You may be right Poet, but I do not go out of my way to make his life stressful. Whereas he does this repeatedly to me.

I want to make it clear that the point of the debate was based on a study that affirms that women have become more intelligent people in the last century, and that it is only a couple of points more than men. what bothers me is actually the way people are treated here. work in a Call center. and what I learned was that everything is in the form in which you give the information or you transmit something to someone, you can say: You are a fucking unhappy who does not pay his bills, only (gentleman must fulfill his responsibilities to not have future consequences.)
