There is probably some research on couples who have been married for some time and no longer have sex with each other. I don't think that it is any longer the case that people expect marriage to be procreative necessarily, but I do think that almost everyone assumes that a couple is marrying to enjoy a sexual relationship. Unless it's for business or political reasons, which was very much the case historically.

    Hey MW
I'd rather sacrifice human's propensity for war. Then we would see our specie thrive. Throw in greed while we are at it. Wow, it's mind boggling.
I'll stick with sex, thank you
Sex is fun, it's relationship building, it can be spiritual, it can be satisfying.
I know that some people eschew fun, relationships, spirituality and satisfaction for the fulfillment of asceticism, but even the Buddha moved beyond that. He found the middle path, which may be the trickiest to follow.

Well in my mind most of the world and even most the people on this site dont know what sexuality is. In my journal i made up my own word for sex because the worlds definition of sex is so closely tied to lust, pornography and infidelity that you can't even think of normal good sexual things without danger whistles going off in your mind. "OH NO! SEX DRIVE MIGHT LEAD TO LUST! MIGHT LEAD TO PORN! AAAAH!"

I call it Ethra, thats the word I made up for it. Im still getting used to using it (still sounds corny, but who cares), but to me Ethra is a form of energy that is attached to everything else about you, and by extension, the rest of the world. That is why that when you deplete your sexual energy through MO or PMO, or overthink on lustful thoughts, you become idle and lack motivation or positive emotions. Its an imbalance of who you are. When you gain control over yourself and dont deplete your natural energy on wasteful things, it translates to every other form of your life. Your self-esteem, your worldview, your posture. Thats what I come across. It is a drive towards creation, not just sexual creation but all forms of creativity. Jerkin off takes that drive away from you.

Using that word has taught me how things really are without thinking of it the way the world thinks of it.

Fagdad. One could reason that the base motivation for sex and things like violence are from the same or similar source. It's all from the primal depths of our mind. The pursuit of pleasure is never ending and fruitless. I personally avoid physical pleasure on basis of principle.

As far as what my sexuality label would be. I'm going with antisexual.

EoT. That is an interesting view. Sort of like the qi energy in Chinese philosophy. I definitely agree this innate sexual energy can be used for other pursuits.

i agree. sex is like this when you love someone. sex can be very spiritual.

sex belongs to life. but a healthy dose of sex - not sex-overdose.

it's not a need to be happy but a basic evolutionary instinct to procreate, this is why we have the urge to constantly have sex, this is why masturbating makes you inherrently dissatisfied and depressed as it's not fullfilling that actually purpose of life. After Food water and shelter, sex is one of the basic human needs, dont underestimate it, and keep up the nofap! good luck bro.

In classical philosophical tradition this would probably be the view of some Stoics, perhaps also Platonists. Other schools (Aristotelians) would take the view that pleasure (including the sexual) is to be always put in service of higher goods (so-called "intelligible goods"). For instance, the pleasure of sex to serve in marriage. I say that sexual pleasure is like a glue - it should bind you with a person you want to give yourself for the entire life and receive like a gift. It's not suppose to glue you to prostitutes, pixels, fancies, animals, and other some such stuff.
