  1. One of the best side-benefits of abstaining from PMO, I can totally relate to you here!

I think it’s just an overall berry logical ability at the mental level to express a bit more self control in many other area of life. I started running and working out more as a result of dropping porn. It’s awesome!

  2. Yes, it’s happened multiple times in our ten years of marriage and so I wasn’t so surprised. Thankfully we actually just had a good sit-down conversation this afternoon and addressed a bunch of the issues we need to tackle as a couple and made a gameplan for this upcoming week. I’m glad we dealt with that slump head on and made some headway. We’ll see how this week goes.

It looks like online they just talk about making it yourself... low carb almond milk ice cream isn't common.
The one brand that is close is Enlightened. Not bad...
Enlightened Dairy-Free Dessert Bar In Monkey Business - 100 calories, 8g net carb, 6g sugars, 4g protein.

I love how music is able to take my mind from suffering into happiness. It helps me escape from reality.

You know what I don't like? when I run to the bathroom, thinking that I have to poop, but when I sit down on the toilet, it turns out that it was just a fart. I hate it when that happens.

  6. They don't make films like they did in the 90s/early 2000s anymore.
There is so much in Peter Parker's quote "With great power comes great responsibility."

The power/responsibility dynamic is so fascinating.
Some have noted that the radical feminism/woke/oppression narrative is an attempt for grip on power.
It ultimately does not work because power is naturally tangled up with responsibility.

Your 'power' (or influence) level correlates with responsibility.
The more power/influence one has, the more they are held responsible for.
Inversely, the more responsibility one has, the more power/influence they will inherit. It is a snowball effect.
    (See the words of Christ:
"Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much.."
    and
"For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance..")

Note that power in itself is not inherently good or bad. It depends on how one uses it.
It does correlate to responsibility, however.

With the radical woke philosophy, responsibility is abdicated. You can see this with the woke college kids crowd.
Abortion is the outcome of wanting pleasure without the responsibility.
Just like how Porn use is wanting pleasure without the responsibility of intimacy with a real, live human being.
(it's interesting how women pushing abortion as 'rights' cannot see how they are being manipulated by coercive men who just want to sleep around without the consequences. Guys who also are, incidentally, also avoiding responsibility. Men and women are both culprits in this game. )
It seems like the underlying theme is 'take take take'. Give me what I (or my identity group) are owed.
But there is no talk on responsibility.

"With great power comes great responsibility."

With no responsibility comes no power.

    Thank you, Peter Parker.

EDIT: Holy Crap. I just realized that when Peter says 'This is my gift, my curse', on one level he is talking about his super power.
On another level, this is actually about all of us. About our power of CHOICE. A theme in the movie.
Choice really is a super power, if you think about it. It has huge consequences on reality. It is what differentiates us from the animals.
For those of us who have tasted addiction, we know it is a gift AND a curse.
A gift when we choose the better road. A curse that pays back 1000-fold when we choose the road of impulsivity and indulgence.

This is our gift. Our curse.
    Choice

  7. I hate it when you get done with a shower and then you have to poop. The worst. Like washing your truck before you go off-roading.

I hate it when you have to poop when you're in the shower. It's similar to feeling like you have to pee when you're trying to sleep. Do you handle the problem or hope it resolves? Either way you won't be comfortable.

Lol, working as a caregiver in a rehab center, we would just have people use the bathroom in the shower. Unfortunately that's not accepted on the outside.

I hate modern life. I wish I was a cat or a bird instead of human.

Relatable, sometimes I wonder how life would be if I lived in the stone age during times of hunters and gatherers. Would I be happier? Would life be more fulfilling?
At the same time my very existence, the fact that I am alive is thanks to modern medicine

Does this mean a beautiful woman can't also possess all the qualities we would be seeking, such as: educated, kind, humble, smart, funny, caring, etc?

I think it's a bit unfair to make a generalized assumption that an "attractive partner" cannot possibly possess all the other qualities we are seeking, and the "attractive partner" is solely here on this earth to boost our ego.

I'm not here to argue, but damn, what a narrow minded stance to take.

I'm a married man for over 10 years to an absolutely gorgeous woman. However, looks were not a priority when I was single in my 30s. I was seeking someone who I was compatible with. Someone I could laugh with and enjoy an adventurous lifestyle with. I was seeking a smart woman who can hold educated conversations. I wanted a woman with a career...someone who was responsible and could be a good mother. I wanted someone who loved athletics and fitness like me...someone who also chose to eat healthy and take care of themselves. That was my priority. It just so happened she is hot...but her looks are only a fraction of what she possess inside. All the qualities I listed were far more important to me, and the reason I married her. To say I wanted a hot woman to make me look important is incredibly silly and just plain stupid.

Good luck to you bro...there's more to women then just their outershell...but I realize we are all addicts here and I can understand why you would have that random thought.

I think both can be true.. and I think that's the difficulty of being a man, the whole "two brains" thing... the one in our head and the one between our legs. There are many men on NF that are focused on the beautiful women, and so I think that's the portion of men that Vicit is talking to.. but I'd bet he agrees with you that a woman can possess all the qualities he/you/I/we are seeking... I feel I know a little of his nature, as he is a nurse, and I've worked in healthcare for a while as a nursing assistant and student... when you're around women so often, you learn of their nature more and of who they are and what they care about. That really helped me understand that it is not the exterior, but the interior, but also, that you can have a beautiful woman who is a beautiful, thoughtful person. I find it really tough tho when I get stuck with the brain between my legs, because I want to always recognize the humanity of the women I work with. I think Vicit likely is the same. I can totally understand your point of view because the post reads like some posts on NF, where it's about the external (understandable because that's all the P shows, but ofc, wrong). I think both of you are on the same side :)

I understand that you are clarifying his intention...thinking with the other head. We are all guilty of that and I completely understand that point of view. However, the thread was written in a very one sided, generalized way that is typical addict thinking, which I understand as an addict.

My main concern is how important it is in this community to avoid perpetuating toxic thinking. Yes, we can acknowledge it, but glorifying it in such a generalized way sounds immature, narrow-minded, and toxic.

If you're going to post a discussion about the "other" head, then indicate that and acknowledge it. Unfortunately, the post fails to do so and sounds terribly shallow.

Wishing you all the absolute best!

At what age do people usually gain consciousness?

That's a good one. I did a quick search and saw many different studies with a variety of suggestions as to when people gain consciousness.

What is consciousness, and what level of consciousness do you mean? What are they conscious of?
