NoFap and ED meds (V*agra / C*alis) - will it mess me up?

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by +TenPercent, Mar 1, 2024.

  1. Question for those with experience in this.

I've been in recovery for years (with moderate success) and the time has come to try vi*gra or c*alis to help with reaching and maintaining full erection during intercourse. I still get rock hard morning wood, but during intimacy, I could use some assistance.

Has anyone used these drugs? How did it affect your NoFap efforts? I am optimistic that it will help with PIV intercourse. But worried that the urges to MO might be even greater if arousal is more quick to result in full erection.

Reminds me of my younger days - getting erections at very inappropriate times.

    Should I be worried?

If you don't have a real arousal, taking sildenafil and similar will not provoke any erection, infact for a lot of us that suffers PIED (for excess of dopamine) these meds will not work at all normally, since they don't give you an arousal boost, but they simply force the blood to not flush away from your dick (they keep the erection stable and longer). But you need to be able to get an erection by yourself. They could work if you have already started a healing process of some months and you're able to get some erections by thoughts, then they can work. You can take them and get a boost of your erection, similar to the ones you had when you were younger. Just don't over-abuse of them taking too much, otherwise you risk too longer erections (over 4 hrs of full boner, which is REALLY BAD for your healthy).

These meds doesn't affects your recovery, but can make you think that you're healed while you're not. Also, excessive sexual intercourse could send you back in your recovery (this doesn't depends on the meds).

Please also note one important thing: as I said, with these you can get a LOT better 'performances', like when you were young, but this also affects your woman. I mean, if your performance is so high, it could be difficult for you to stop taking them next time, for the fear of a lower performance. So you risk to get "addicted" in some way. Think about it before taking them.
