Vitamin D is a big component. I was taking 15,000 IU per day as a COVID prevention strategy. I’ve backed down to 10,000 IU. It makes a big difference.

  2. I was very slightly deficient in that but started taking 4000IU a day and it sorted itself out. I'd be wary of taking as much as you take though, I've heard about very large doses causing psychosis.

I investigated that and worked with my physician. Approaching 50,000 IU is where it gets dangerous.

  4. I read a story where a man took 200,000IU a day for around 6 months and it made him psychotic. Thankfully once it drained from his system he was totally fine.

    Yikes. That’s a lot of vitamin D.
Read up on the immune system benefits of vitamin D. It’s helped me never get COVID when everyone I work with has had it at least once, some 3x.

  6. Keep that up and you'll be radiating pure solar energy.

  7. Funny you mention this. My Vitamin D levels were in single digits in 2018. I do try to take 10,000 IU daily of it and I think it's absolutely critical. I'm back in the gym pretty regularly. I've lost about 30lbs from being off SSRI's and Wellbutrin. I have no gut. Around 13% bodyfat last time I was checked out. Leg day is more important for me now. My only mistake is not starting earlier in my 20's, while I am in my 30's now.

I have noticed that since being off the medicine for a while and when I go to 5 days no pmo, my dreams happen more. I believe dopamine plays a roll in REM sleep. I wake up with a morning erection, but not the type I had when I was in my teens. So I TMI - I'd have one going to piss in the morning and it wouldn't go down. Now, it just stays until I essentially get out of bed.

Morning erections are much more common now. A nice reminder that everything is working.

I'm curious what brought on all you people getting testosterone checked? Should I get mine checked?

    ED, fatigue mostly.
A result of lots of PMO most likely.
I have it done with all my annual blood work.

  11. I can't actually remember what prompted mine. Might have been the doctor's idea. But yes it's well worth it imo.

It’s good to know and track. Especially as we get older. I’ll be 59 next month. Large doses of Vitamin D and heavy weights are critical to keeping my levels up. Quitting jacking off can’t hurt either.

  13. Long story, but short version is headaches and fatigue. After going down the rabbit hole with anemia, my wonderful doctor suspected it might be low T.

Fatigue for me. Lots of family thyroid history, so we checked that first. Then checked T.
I think it was too much jacking off!

Thanks guys. I have had quite a few episodes of extreme exhaustion, usually related to tasks that require some amount of mental effort. I also have constant tension headaches. The headaches I'm seeing several professionals about (otorhinolaryngologist, physiotherapist, neurologist, MR-scan I'm waiting for). Nobody mentioned testosterone. (Maybe because I'm "only" 30 years old.)

It’s worth checking. Talk to your doctor about it.

  17. This exactly. Too much masturbation. The doctor put me through a battery of tests, all sorts of specialists to figure out why my testosterone was so low but deep down I figured it was because I jerked off for 3 to 4 hours a day

It’s interesting, despite testing for sperm count, sperm health, facial hair, penis size, Cat-scan, even genetic testing for kleinfelter’s syndrome … no one ever asked me how much I masturbated!!

Did it end up being T?

    Right!?!
Doctor: “So, Mr. Smith, approximately how many times a day would you say you jack off?”
Would have saved a lot of testing!

Welcome! You're in the right place! :)

I can only answer this based on my experience. Between ages 18-26, I was a 2xPMO/day/everyday guy for 8 years. I would literally go to sleep late doing... well you guessed it... and then have another session in the morning...

During the last 1-2 years of those 8 years, my penis was literally a baby carrot. It was like jelly and did NOT get hard at all. I literally bruised and injured it big time! Yes, I definitely used a "death grip" on it. And yet, while it was wicked sore due to all the frequent "sessions", I still went right ahead and did sessions through the soreness. Also to give you an idea of how deep bad I was in this addition, I had a secret word doc on my computer, over 10+ pages of URLs (single spaced). I literally would have 20 tabs open at once, and nothing got me "excited" anymore... I got to a point where I thought I have seen literally every video out there... and yet, my "thing" was a dead baby carrot, nonexistent erection, and only got as hard as jelly...

It was after I discovered this site and watched the TedTalk "Your Brain on P" when I decided that I want to quit. In my first attempt, I managed to go 49 days PMO/P/MO free. I swear, within two weeks, my erections returned like never before. I literally forgot what it was like to have one... and I didn't even realize I was bigger.

There was a moment during those last two years where I thought "I have killed it permanently"... I thought I would never be able to get it back. Boy, I was wrong.

That said, I did have some "dry spells" with my erections. There are times when days, weeks would go by and I didn't have erections. This is because with PMO still fresh in your mind, you are still in the whole "rebooting" process. Not to mention, I have relapsed here and there... and that stuff has put a huge dent on my progress, especially when it came to fixing my "thing". Even "just one little peak" at a video, would make my erections non-existent for days.

    ----------

I don't wanna tell you a hard timeline of when and what to expect, because every guy is different. I have worked with guys who have taken longer to "reboot". I can tell you that it IS possible to fix. I am sure you didn't ruin it for life. I know you can fix it.

According to your profile, you are 24. I am 33, and I only begun my NF journey at 26. I honestly envy you for discovering NF at an earlier age than I have. But hey, if I can make a comeback (though not a perfect one), I know you can too!!!

Put up all the fight against PMO, because it is worth it! If you ever wished your thing was bigger, quitting PMO will do wonders.

Trust me kid, it's not too late!
