i just want to finally have confidence with women and get rid of my social anxiety once and for all. and not just women either… i am absolutely getting sick of it at 27 years old. job, school, held me back in every single way. i thought i needed therapy for it and medication but the medication didn’t do nothing and gave me bad side effects. it was making me violent and angry so i stopped taking it asap.

and its still sort of a struggle to socialize with even co-workers of mine that i knew for awhile.

i was never really like this as a kid (i was a little shy but not that bad) i was more social, had more energy in me, more willpower to do things, and things weren’t as boring. is this a result of burned out dopamine receptors?

but i hope i atleast get better in 6 months.

Turning social anxiety into social confidence is a big, long-term process because root causes of social anxiety are complex and are different from person to person. Quitting porn and excessive masturbation is helpful but it is just one piece of the puzzle. Other things that may be helpful are therapy, temporary medication, KBT (where you gradually put yourself into situations where you have to be social).

yeah right now im taking ashwaganda as i heard good stuff about it but not doing much. never will i go back to pharmaceutical drugs though as i stated above.

but im kinda positive that heavy masturbating is the root cause of my social awkwardness, otherwise stopping cold turkey wouldn’t make it worst.

Hey bro, not sure if you are aware but ashwaganda has been shown it can cause "emotional numbness"; so this could absolutely be contributing to you feeling bored/numb. I recommend you get off that and see how you feel after a couple weeks.

Also, if you aren't in a sunny climate you should add some vitamin D supplements to your daily routine; many people are deficient which can lead to all kinds of issues including depression.

A lot of us are in the same boat brother, it is tough times we are living through, particularily when it comes to the economy. Don't lose hope though, things will improve.

Regarding confidence with women, I think understanding them better and what they are looking for when it comes to relationships is of the utmost importance. A lot of what we have been taught by society is the complete inverse to how things actually work. For example, being Mr. Nice Guy or showering a woman with compliments very rarely leads to her becoming attracted to you. There's a great book called The Rational Male by Rollo Tamassi I highly recommend you check out if you want to learn more on this topic.
