Is it essential to see Captain Marvel before Endgame?

No, but I would recommend it. It's much more essential to watch Infinity War first.

Is there a lot of "Girl Power RA RA RA" cheer-leading/virtue-signaling in this movie?

That's subjective. With a signature line of 'celebrate masculinity', I'm going to not go down that road with you.

Yeah you should, you will know her backstory, and that post credit will directly tie into ENDGAME

I watched Wonder Woman without becoming a male feminist so maybe I can give this a go.

None of the story or characters from that movie are involved other than herself and her kree-tesseract power, except in the post credit scene(which is also almost not important).

Important Movies you need to watch before Endgames
    • All 3 avengers especially infinity war
    • Ant-Man, Ant-Man and the wasp
    • All 3 Captain America
    • Guardians of the Galaxy
    • Thor Ragnarok
    • Doctor Strange

Btw you're kind of late...have you heard any spoilers?

I did not see Captain Marvel prior to Endgame and feel like I didn’t miss anything.

Just bring dehydration. It’s three hours and two minutes and there really isn’t a good point to leave. Every minute is worth it.

Bring dehydration? I thought that was something that happens to you, not something that you can "bring".

If you're a true fan of the MCU films, then obviously yes. To understand the magnitude of Captain Marvel's powers and strength, you really only need to watch the last 10-15 minutes of Captain Marvel so you don't get surprised by how much damage she causes in Avengers: Endgame.
