You were given an answer: society makes them feel like it's necessary. They are surrounded by images of women that are nothing but sex objects, and so they act and dress the same.

Look in their eyes wasn't an answer. It was advice. Stop gawking at their breasts and start looking them in the eye.

Thanks for summarizing the thread so far BahaiGuy. You seem a bit touchy on the subject. It's always good to hear different perspectives on such topics. I find members of nofap have a good deal to contribute concerning these matters and the viewpoints posted on here are all appreciated.

What really baffles me is how they dress when they go out with their girl friends. It doesn't make sense for them to dress up all skanky wearing the low cut skirts and tight dresses. And then they get in groups and take photos of themselves with all their girl friends. I don't get it. It seems counterintuitive if you want to get noticed to go out dressed up, go out with your friends, take photos of you, and then post it on social media hoping you will get a lot of likes. And then at the end of the day us guys are forced to see this crap streaming on our social media feeds, feeding us more temptation to go out and look at porn.. we have to wake up and smell the coffee..girls are not that naive...they know what they are doing. They are trying to seek attention and whether that's by girls or guys it doesn't matter. They are emotionally driven to seek attention and desire from people.

One thing that gets me upset is how feminists say that a women can wear whatever they want, yet they are so against revealing women in magazines and videos on the web. A women made a choice to except a photo shoot for a magazine and a women made a choice to buy a certain outfit and wear it out. There's no difference! Don't complain about being gawked at if you want to dress like that. It's a man's nature. We can fight for control, but that's exactly what it is... a fight. Not very natural.

That's exactly what's wrong with feminism; it's based on female logic. Female logic ain't even logic, it's pseudo-logic. Feminism will collapse on its own stupidity some day, trust me.

Gentlemen, you all seem to be operating under the impression that one woman's choice is all women's choice. Every woman is different. The one that calls for women to not be in magazines in revealing clothes is not the same one who goes out dressed as a skank. (Skank, mind you, is a societal construction, and is totally subjective). The one who is a feminist is not the same one who is accepting work doing photo shoots, or porn, or whatever.

The empowered question is not "why do they <fill in your blank>" but "what can I do to..." or "How do I..." When you take that frame of reference you empower yourself to rise above and be immune by anything they may be wearing, or doing. It doesn't matter. It doesn't affect you one iota.

Remember this addiction is your (and my) problem, not theirs. And sooner or later you're going to have to learn to live in a world where women dress any way they want to, and it's not a reason for you to go back to PMO, or an excuse for it, or even a reason to criticize them or shame them for doing it.

    Good luck, brothers!

Lucubrare, thanks for your perspective. I completely agree with you on the empowering thing to do. I have tried to stop looking but I still manage to sneak a peak at those women with everything on display stretching at the gym. The images do linger with me for a while. The answers on here will not make me get illuminated and get on a mission to change how others are conducting themselves. When I see a woman trying too hard and exposing too much of her skin, or wearing overly tight clothes, I try to not feel any lust for the girl. But then the feeling remaining in my heart is disgust for her.

If I understood why they did it, maybe I could see the world through their eyes and start respecting them.

Maybe because they want to? If someone wants to dress a certain way, that's their business. Not yours. It is not her problem that you can't muster the courage to simply say "hi" and get on with your day. But, no. You have to question her motive behind wearing "provocative" clothing. The problem isn't her choice in fashions; it's you. Instead of fixating on the external, why not just mind your own damn business and worry about yourself? There's no sociological psychobabble to discuss. 9 times out of 10, women dress that way because they simply want to. Women in American society have come a long way over the past 80 or so years. Treat them with respect and dignity, and you might find out what it's like to have a girlfriend.

Seriously, some of you people need to get a goddamn life and quit overanalyzing shit that isn't even fucking there in the first place. There is no competition amongst women to see how many dipshit morons they can titillate with their skimpy clothes. Nor is there some immoral trend going on. If you see someone dressed in an outfit that you think is slutty, it's your problem. If you don't want to see it, either don't look, or move to Saudi Arabia. You won't find any "slutty" women there, bht you will find a male dominated culture where you can't drink, masturbate, or do anything fun.

Why is there a prejudice that those who don't appreciate skimpily clad women are single losers who never had a girlfriend and have problems striking up a conversation with women. I have always been good looking and have had women take initiative to chat me up. I've had my fair share of wasteful relationships when I should have gone for that one right girl and started a family by now. Lately, I have started questioning the basics of what we modern misled men take for granted. We are being lured into a life of self-indulgence and debauchery without concern for the consequences if not through porn than through all the PUA floating around and thus quick smooth seductions. There have been eons of human wisdom before the modern socio-economic and political landscape emerged. The so-called modern world has its fair share of problems and we are products of our age. Speaking of male dominance, prostitution and porn seem to be quite the examples in the name of liberation. There is no denying that we are brainwashed in one way or another. Let's keep the prejudices aside and help out by sharing your perspective if you have one.

Partly true. The competition isn't for "dipshit morons," it's for attention from high value men and other women.

    @Op
    http://therationalmale.com/2011/09/21/your-attention-please/

Male attention is like a form of currency for women - it gives them access to resources. Free help moving with the bat of an eyelash, free therapy at the sign of the first tear, free meals in exchange for a few compliments ("you're such a great guy!"). The evolution towards sluttier and sluttier behavior, ultimately boils down to competition for the most desirable men.

As a general rule of thumb, just for the sake of easing discussion - not to be taken for anything exact, women in their most attractive years (18-27) are heavily focused on the top 20% of men. These men, however, now are bombarded with options and can take their pick. If a girl tries to play "nice girl" with him, he can easily discard her for another chick who will enthusiastically jump into bed with him.
Thus, in order to compete with the most attractive women, less attractive women will engage in sluttier and sluttier behavior in order to win these highly desirable men over from the more attractive women.
A man will quite readily sacrifice some hotness in exchange for ease of access.

Unfortunately for these women - there is no way to be dressed skimpily for the hot men, and modestly for the average man. What you wear is what you are wearing. Thus, she finds much more attention from the men she would prefer to ignore than she gets from the men she desires. This is one of the major reasons you see women complaining about "street harassment" and "sexual objectification" - they only want the hottest men to notice their sexuality (other reasons include the least attractive women being unable to compete and attempting to limit competition, as well as using the complaints as a means of humble bragging about the attention a woman can garner).

I agree with this 100 percent. There is no secret agenda, folks. Women dress the way they dress because they can and there's nothing you can do about it. Judging someone by their attire is about as narrow-minded a thing as you can do. These are women that may in fact be doctors or lawyers or other strong, productive members of our society that simply want to relieve stress after a 60-hour work-week. I don't appreciate self-righteous assholes that will talk about the supposed promiscuity of woman-kind and five minutes later jack off to Rachel Starr on Pornhub.

Also I find it funny that even girls can't even give a good explanation of this. Most girls have no logic. They are more emotionally driven, whereas males have more logic. I once dated a girl who was so logical though that she threw me for a loop. I hated the fact that she was so logical all the time, especially when we were in a fight she would always repeat everything I did back to me as if I did not know what I was doing. On top of it all she was very emotional which made things worse. If you went up to a girl and asked her "why do you dress so slutty?" she would probably smack you or turn her head the other way and be angry at you. But if you walked up to her and asked her "why do you wear clothes that reveal your competitive side?" she would probably be startled and look at you like you make no sense. It's because they base what they do off their emotions (which is not a good indicator of good decision making in the first place), not necessarily logic. Sorry if this doesn't make sense.

Don't blame a relapse on something else or you'll never reboot. Although I agree the sex culture we're living in is making women (and men) dress more indecently, it is our perception of the people around us that is most destructive to us. Seeing attractive women which causes you to PMO is a result of the porn addiction that changes our perception of women. Instead of seeing living people you see objects of sex.

Resist the urges to PMO whatever your mind says. Your mind will come up with a thousand thoughts saying why it should receive pleasure. Don't give in. Good luck:)

yes, it is a matter of culture and mentality a great deal. I've been to eastern countries and I was surprised at how much their mentality differs as far as it concerns women and sexuality. women are not apt to expose their sexuality to anyone but a beloved man. and if they do want to show their attractiveness, it is enough just to reveal a piece of shoulder, which looks even sexier than cheesecake. men treat women differently therefore

if the temptation is too pressing, when you see a half-naked woman in street, start thinking of disgusting things hidden under her skirt. like too much hair or dirty underwear or whatever you consider ugly and disgusting

I agree with this! Since my husband has been PMO free for 2 years his whole attitude and triggers have changed. He is able to simply appreciate beauty in a woman instead of feeling lustful thoughts.

As a woman this topic is very sensitive to me because my husband was an addict and I too see those women with skimpy outfits on. Before I discovered my husbands addiction it never bothered me but a part of my soul shattered on the day I found out so the whole world looks different now. I understand why women do it, it's for attention, it's to feel beautiful and it's to feel femininity. Women in African tribes go around with nothing on and the men are fine so you have to understand how brainwashed men are in our culture to link sex with anatomy and then with masturbation. Women as sexual objects sells crap...to both men and women and women get brainwashed into thinking this is how men want you to be.

I remember being out at bars as a single woman and the girl with the least amount of clothes was the one getting all the male attention, so it works and the behaviour is reinforced. If you want to change the behaviour stop reinforcing it by giving them your attention. At the same time men will stare and gawk at you if you are attractive no matter how much clothes you have on!!
