  2. Alright Today Is DAY 1: I honestly want to write down every day to give you guys a idea what is like to do dopamine detox.

So here we go: The first honestly is a mix bag. The first thing you realized how much time you have that there is a lot to do. That is complete bull shit that I said that I don't have enough time. The bad thing of dopamine detox is that you have headaches that you try to focus on something put your brain doesn't feel like it.

One thing I recommend you to do the first day of dopamine detox is to clean your room and plan what you want to do this year.

As of right now im still cleaning considering I just realized how dirty is my room.

I'm in starting from tomorrow, same time as a new nofap streak:

No netflix, no fb, no tiktok, no insta, no yt, no music, no fastfood, no smoking, no porn, no masturbation, no mindless internet browsing.

    Biggest distractions for me are
    - music (daily for hours)
    - smoking (1-2 packs/ week)
    - fastfood and sodas (once a week)
    - facebook & tiktok (the occasional check)
    - netflix (one or two movies a week during downtime)

I will use the freed up time and mindfocus for:
    - constant meditation (focus internally on the breadth during activities)
    - spiritual study
    - sitting meditation
    - 4 excercise sessions/ week

Good luck to all those that are joining!

Day 1 of NoFap & DD

    Withdrawal Symptoms: None
    Focus: High
    Thoughts: Very controlled
Mindfullness: High during mundane tasks (driving, shopping, ...)
Emotions: Anger twice due to two arguments. The Anger subsided fast (1-2 hours) after focussing on the breadth
    Cravings: None

The weirdest/ hardest part was driving without music and coming home without putting it on. This has been "routine" my entire life (i always listen to music whatever i do). But my mind welcomed the change and was quite pleased with feeding on the breadth energy instead of having a focus divided between music and breadth.

  6. Well Fuck I'm not sure if I relapsed or I didn't because I was scrolling through google to find some information. Then I clicked on Quora Which has very useful information. Yet I realized Quora is a social media App not sure If I relapsed or not.

    @Master Builder What You Think

I blocked quora for that exact reason. Its very addictive and very accessible (like porn). I used to waste lots of time on it so its a part of my blocked sites list.

Guess it counts as a relapse even though it might not have been intentional.

Dont think too much over it though, just start again :) make sure to add all websites/ apps you want to avoid to your blockers so that you cant make any unintentional mistakes

You can be very strict about this:

You promised yourself no social media apps. You were so focussed on your task, you "forgot" quora is a social media app. If you are honest with yourself, this is a lapse in mindfullness, wether it was intentional or not; you did not keep in mind to avoid social media apps such as quora. Basically, the task at hand had a larger weight on your focus than the importance of this dopamine detox.

  11. Alright Im going so set myself in a little challenge.

    Day 0/7

My challenge is to achieve 7 Days Of Dopamine Detox.

My reward is to describe in detail what is the difference of 0 Days of dopamine detox compare to doing 7 Days Of Dopamine Detox.

So which is why I would live to explain myself how I feel doing 0 Days of Dopamine Detox.

So of right now of me typing this I feel anxious, tired and stuck. To be quite honest with you I have a hard time typing this because there was multiple times I had a hard time explaining myself because of my brain fog.

As the moment I waked up today I felt tired and sore even though I spent my days in my room and this lifestyle I have I'm not proud of because I wasted a whole year doing this.

Im honestly Afraid for the coming days of this challenge like each time I try to quit my habits I have this anxiety and headeches like I have to jack off again or watch that youtube video again so I would relieve myself or so to feel better because I have hard doing stuff you know.

    Ive been doing great.

Day 4 of DD + impeccable discipline

Sleep, study, meditation, work, purity (dd + nofap), excercise and the 5 precepts have all been perfect.

Getting a taste of true freedom to combine nofap with DD. I have naturally turned inwards by seeking pleasure through breath meditation instead of anything outside... It is very refreshing.

    No withdrawals whatsoever.

Thanks! You can do it too!

Just dont forget, the mind needs food. If you deprive it from all your reglar food sources (social media etc, sexual fantization, carby foods, ...) it needs something else or you will go insane.

The goal is to find alternative sources of food. For me thats constant meditation and hard work.

You need to find what works for you in order to get real benefit from this detox.

It took a long time for me to get to this point... To seek pleasure inside instead of outside... In the past, when still focussed externally i found a focus on music, fitness, gaining muscle/ strength, spiritual study (gaining knowledge), yoga, and meditation (as a way to reduce stress and increase mindfullness), and a disciplined approach to duty (work/ studies) very efficient. It allowed me to build myself up and get strong/ healthy.

    Hope this helps!

    Report of Week 1:

Duty: 7/7 Got loads of shit done! 13-14h physical workdays are quite hard though
Sleep: 7/7 No issues with sleep, nor had any wet dreams
Excercise: 4/4 Did 4 bodyweight workouts instead of 2 cardio and 2 bodyweight
Meditation: 7/7 Meditation went very well, i'm building momentum and have discovered a new state of concentration, might be the fourth jhana
Study: 7/7 Mostly focussed on soaring eagle's articles, and posting/ reading in the nofap forum
Purity: 7/7 The dopamine detox together with a perfectly clean diet and abstaining from smoking is absolute bliss, i feel fresh, clean and pure
Precepts: 7/7 Accidentally killed a slug during work... I won't count this as a break in the precept as it was unintentional and couldn't be foreseen. I will be more carefull in the future though as per not killing any small animals/ insects by accident!

    Withdrawal symptoms
    Few if any withdrawal symptoms.
Saterday evening a slight headache was coming up but barely noticeable

    Abstention Benefits:

The dopamine detox is absolute bliss. No more smoking, together with a very clean diet (it was already clean but i cheated here and there) is really helping me to find pleasure within through meditation. There is no more internal fight between desires for external pleasure and a focus on the breath internally. Especially the no music part is what helps the most.

    Emotions:

Stable. Even though i heard my ex-gf found someone else, it did not have a great effect.
I simply decided "i don't feed on that kind of thought and feeling anymore, now i feed on the breath", and all trouble vanished.

    Urges:

Very small urge on saterday evening but it went away fairly quickly focussing on the breath

    Reflection:

    Feeling very good about this new start. There are no more internal fights present between seeking pleasure outside or focussing on spirituality inside. The focus has completely shifted to inside, in a very natural, non-restrictive and resistance-less way. I believe the reason for this is the following three decisions;
-To start the dopamine detox challenge, focussing on pleasure within
-To have taken and reinforce my pledge to my higher self on a daily basis
-To simplify my life and tracking (only 7 things to track, not focussed on bulking and weight-tracking, a light evening meal, simple but effective excercises, putting my routines on the moment they are easiest = morning excercise and evening study+meditation, only one source of food = the breath, ...)

Dreams show me i am on track for purification. Desires to be with women/ have sex/ about my ex-gf are arising in my dreams which is a natural effect of abstaining. When i masturbate/ have sex more than once a week, these dreams are non-existent. This time, due to the increased purity in general (daily meditation, dopamine detox added + strict clean diet), the dreams have already started on day two!

Let's see how long they last and when the first wet dream will come.
I hope to gain mastery over my dreams and practice meditation even there!
