***The Gratitude Attitude Challenge***

Discussion in 'Events & Challenges' started by BushidoWarrior, Sep 21, 2015.

    1. I'm grateful for how much easier it is to hit my ideal macros (minimum grams of fat, protein, carbohydrates) each day now that I can eat meat and fish again. On my diet especially before as a veggie I was struggling to get even 0.5g per lb of lean mass in me, and so lost some muscle mass - but now I'm easily reaching over 1g per lb, often with excess calories left for a small cheat meal. It's awesome.
    2. I'm grateful for the insane amount of energy I have today that has allowed me to workout harder than I ever have before in my life. That feel good soreness is a reward in itself.
    3. I'm grateful for all the knowledge out there that's helping me get my diet and workouts right.

    1. I'm grateful for my emotions. I lost the plot a bit over the last week, but my emotions told me I was doing something wrong, and I'm back to climb back on the wagon.
    2. I'm grateful for pain. I love the pain after a good workout. It feels GOOD.
    3. I'm grateful for the opportunities I have in this life. I have a one overseas trip coming up, and I'm already looking at doing another just six months later. Awesome!

    Hello guys, so last night while watching 'The Big Bang Theory' I got stuck asking myself why the beloved character Sheldon Cooper is so obsessed with winning a noble prize. I mean, a guy with his intellect and success should be pretty content with his achievements right? - then it dawned on me that obviously Sheldon has been made to feel like an outcast his entire life and and although he doesn't care for what most people think, he still has to live in this world with everyone else. I realised then that Sheldon's quest for a noble prize is so that he can finally be acknowledged for 'his genius'.

    At the end of the day he still wants others to recognise him. But would that really matter if he already truly recognised himself? Would it matter if he already gave himself the acknowledgment and appreciation he seeks from others? I seriously doubt it...so this is what I am striving towards; accepting and appreciating myself utterly and completely for who I am. That is why I am on NoFap - I don't want to see myself as a resident wanker anymore, therefore I am here to rectify that. From here onwards, for the next few weeks, I will always first say that I am grateful for accepting myself for who I am. I will rephrase it in many different ways and I urge that the rest of you do the same from time to time and let's see how we start to feel after we constantly remind ourselves that WE ACCEPT OURSELVES;

    1. I am grateful that I am striving toward completely appreciating who I am.

    2. I am grateful for the inspiration from successful women who have grown up in my home town.

    3. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to share this post with everyone.

    ....

    1. I'm grateful for this new workout routine I've discovered that'll let me split up my workouts between days and workout 4-5+ days a week instead of just 3-4. Plus I can really feel the burn in my shoulders/triceps from the first day of the routine, which is awesome.
    2. I'm grateful for the meal I just ate.
    3. I'm grateful for cat and how awesome he is.

    * I'm grateful that I haven't killed myself. There's hope, there's a silver lining.

    * I'm also grateful for First Aid Kit

    * I'm grateful to Steven C. Hayes for developing Acceptance and Commitment therapy, as well as the self-help workbook based on that called: Get out of your mind and into your life.

    It's helping me.

    * I'm grateful for NoFap, it's beneficial in my personal development. I fapped a lot as a teenager, then mostly without porn. But for me it's not only the porn that is the problem.

    Once when I was 18, I saw a girl tanning outside of my window in a bikini. I peeked out my window and fapped while watching her. WHAT A FUCKING PERVERT I WAS! And that was just one example, fapping so much made me perverted. Even before porn was a big part of the picture, fapping was very destructive for me.

    So I'm grateful for NoFap. I'm grateful for the Redditors and @alexander who had a crucial role in developing the NoFap.

    In 2009/2010 a friend talked about how he hadn't masturbated for almost a month. He said he was doing it because it would increase his testosterone. I thought he was ridiculous, god I wish I would have taken the idea seriously.

    * I'm grateful for that friend. We became friends at age 17, I was then coming out of an identity crisis as a rebellious asshole (I was sort of a wigger). He's intelligent, booksmart and interested in writing. He had an enormously positive influence on me. He introduced me to the Smiths, which was the first non-Hip Hop music I had appreciated in a long time then.

    * I'm grateful for my grandmothers, and that they are both alive. They have given me a lot of love over the years, and man is their food delicious. I'm visiting one of my grandmothers tomorrow.

    * I'm grateful for black pepper. It makes food taste better and increases your appetite, which is great for me since I want to eat healthily (for example complex carbs and vegetables) and also gain weight.

    * I'm grateful that I have been able to complete this gratitude attitude challenge! I have written about at least 3 things I'm grateful for every day since April 19.

    * I'm grateful for this challenge! I think it has made me better at being grateful and showing gratitude in my every day life. I've had my ups and downs this month as always, but great things have happened. I got a new job!

    It might very well be that this thread was a necessary boost for me. So thank you so much @BushidoWarrior :)

    And take care man! And take care you other men, women and inbetweeners as well! I might start with some kind of Gratitude meditation. I think this thread has been a great warmup and motivator for such a thing.

    1. I'm grateful to my body for coping well on only ~3-4 hours of sleep, perhaps I'll use this to have my sleep pattern fixed by tomorrow.

    3. I'm grateful for it being the weekend now - even if I don't have a particular week/weekend centred routine, I always feel better at the weekends.

    1. I'm grateful for how quickly my body is responding to my new routine and diet, can already see changes in my body after just a week. Feelsgoodman.
    2. I'm grateful for how quickly I fell asleep after listening to ASMR last night, allowing me to at least not worsen my sleep pattern. Perhaps I can try it again tonight and actually get my sleep pattern fixed? Fingers crossed.
    3. I'm grateful for my new workout routine, which allows me to workout much harder and improve much quicker.
