2/2 2/197 5/8 Finally a streak. I'll try to keep it going. @Akeakua I have a question about the second row of the records. I thought the biggest number there could be 37, so 197 wouldn't make sense, but I see you keep incrementing but the basis is the last stage, right? I know it's arbitrary but I'd like to know. The first row is fine - it's just the current stage. The last one has been displaying the number of clean days since the challenge started. Not sure about the second row. I don't it takes into account any relapses. I think it should measure the longest streak within the challenge without showing the stage. It made me think - there's smoke coming from my skull, I think I've overheated it with math thinking
The second row is kind of like a poefeess meter. All the steps combined equals 197 days. The way I track mine is in sync with the first metric, so it does account for relapse but it might be kind of confusing. Don't feel constrained to the way I'm tracking please. Please track in the way that is easy for you to understand or be encouraged. And congrats Don80!!! 2 day streaks are no joke!
I'll make a goal to score a 197-day streak but I know that I might have to reset it second row or I will just count the streaks together. I'll think about it.
The 197 days isn't a streak. My bad, I haven't explained this well. The 197 days is the total days accumulated. I am going easy mode to keep myself encouraged. Currently I have completed the first 3 steps: 2 days, 3 days, and 5 days adding up to a total of 10 days. Therefore the second metric is set at 10 out of 197 days. If, let's say I get to 3 days out of 7 on the next step but have a reset, the second counter would go from 13 out of 197 days back to 10 out of 197 days, subtracting 3 days. It just serves as a secondary progress bar for me, but it might be a bit confusing and I may not be explaining it well.
Just noticed the progress bar in your footer. That's a great idea and thank you! We're on a hopeful journey, stumble sometimes and lose the faith sometimes, but never relenting.
Reset but it's like climbing Mount Everest. You need to climb down in order to go to the next base the next day. So the next base is 3 days. But if only 2 clean days happen, that's OK too. 0/3 0/197 5/9 I'll stick with your way of counting the stats but as you suggest I will adapt them to my needs and my growth. I see a lot of value in the system you built. I want to score a 197-day streak one day
Thanks Don! It really is like Mt. Everest. I think my highest streak since starting 2 years ago is less than 2 months. I would like to be free for 197 days and many more too. 1/7 11/197 13/17
My biggest streak is 13. But the motivation is strong at the moment. Several successes - I mean the pattern - 1 in, 1 out, 1 in, 1 out - gave a sense of control over it. Now I will try two in, one out for several days.
Hey, 13 is a prime number , it's been my favorite number for quite a while. 10 and 3 are great numbers, why not both? 197 is very possible. We will get it one day.
