I was having heart palpitation as well so I thought it would be better to be checked it by Dr. I went to one of the best cardiologist of my city and had an ecg but my heart is fine. Only high BP thats all.

Bro!! I think Nofap should also include High BP as one of the withdrawal symptoms so that people might be aware and to take precautions before they begin their nofap journey.

Buddy, Keep monitoring your Blood Pressure, this thing can't be ignored, Keep posting your readings, hope your BP comes down little bit, start meditation. I am having the same issue since nofap suffering from high BP. And damn sure there are many others but they r not aware of this. Its better to be checked than to b sorry in the last.

Buddy, you r not alone here. Withdrawals are nasty but first go and visit Dr... Tachycardia is a heart beat higher than 100 beats per minute. Its better to see cardiologist first.
Thanks and keep posting, I hope you find some comfort.

Nofap is a good forum and good thing because it gives us platform to help and share with each other, this forum is all about becoming strength for each other.
Porn is really bad, those people who say masturbation is good for health they r the biggest idiot of this world because they will soon become addicted.

  8. Haven't noticed it. But, maybe your blood pressure is returning to it's "normal".

If you are sleeping better, eating better, living a healthy life. I know I hate the phrase "at your age" (mostly because I've been hearing it more and more recently). So, I'll say, at my age BP can be a problem if I don't keep my weight down. By the way we're almost the same age (sorry).

I visited all possible doctors already. The high BP seems to have faded. But palpitations and tachycardia seem to come back randomly. Doctors say everything is fine with my blood values and my heart.

Personally I suspect it comes from anxiety which is caused by withdrawal.

I heard stress can also elevate your blood pressure, but I never heard of a correlation before now.

May be it will return to normal but one can't take risk during nofap, withdrawal symptoms should include probable high blood pressure so that we can take some precautions regarding that issue because high can be life threatening.

Its possible that its a part of withdrawal and good to hear that you had been checked up by Dr. By the way had your BP came down little bit? Mine is still 135/85 but slightly lower than before.

  13. I have felt the flutters now and again and sometimes feel heartbeat through my throat. I honestly think this is to do with withdrawal and the abuse of our central nervous system.

    Hi everybody,

i wanted to describe my symptoms about nofap/high bp.
    But first my nofap history:
I started nofap in summer 2017 for the first time.
After some days i really experienced some positive impacts on my life.
I was more 'awake' somekind. But there was also a negative impact which was an inner anger, i was raging very fast.
Sometimes i even threw things through the room against the wall only to destroy something.
At that time i thought that this behaviour was due to my 'new masculinity' and not related to high bp.
But i stopped nofap because to exams and my behaviour returned to normal.
Then it tried it once again in fall 2017 after my exams.
After some weeks i felt very bad and consulted a doctor who has sent me to some others specialists, but i was healthy except that he measured an increased systolic value (only the upper part of the blood pressure is high).
A week later i even had a nephritis (kidney problems) which i today would attribute to the high bp.
Again at that time i wasn't aware that these kinds of problems could be related to my nofap.
Then a week before Christmas is started nofap again and i know have a high bp (isolated systolic hypertension) again.
I will soon consult a cardiologist.

This leads me to my questions:
    1. has anyone experienced a high bp but that it lowered with time of long nofap? (i.e. that nofap could work in the long run)
    2. are there any studies about this?
    3. should i stop nofap? i am a bit a frightened about the consequences, especially kidney problems

Hii!! My Blood Pressure right now is 125/85 which I think is normal, When I started Nofap August 2017, my blood pressure was constantly high till 2 months but now those heart palpitation and every other symptoms faded slowly slowly. I would suggest have a beta blockers for few days during nofap because this surely increases blood pressure and the reason is clear because of Excessive Dopamine in brain which increases anxiety and A person who suffering from Anxiety also has high blood pressure, I went to the cardiologist and he said everything is fine except my high bp which can be dangerous at times,
So it would go slowly after initial recovery, but I would suggest during those journey you should have beta blockers because there will b a time when adrenaline will b pulsating through veins.
    All d best.

Thank you Anurag12 for your advice, i will take those seriously.
the dopamine induced anxiety you are describing could explain why i suffered from nightmares the last weeks, never had nightmares before :(
What do you mean with high? my is at ~ 150/90 in the evening.

High means I had constant BP reading of 140/90 during Nofap journey but as the brain adjusts it will come down slowly but that doesn't mean you ignore high BP, have beta blockers, My cardiologist also gave me the same because at that time due to high Dopamine to stress hormone conversion I also suffered from Panic Attacks for 30 days at least and it was horrible because I was not aware of this.
Keeo eye on your BP and do take precautions because High BP can be very dangerous if you r obese or having any kind of alcohol or drugs.
Eat lots of vegetables, drink much water, meditate, etc. Stay away from caffeine completely, it raises blood pressure.
    All d best.

Hello everyone, this is my first post. I have been reading the forums for a few weeks now but I felt I needed to give my experiences here as they are BP related.
I've always been a healthy, sporty guy but a few years ago fell ill. I had developed extreme swelling in my legs which progressively worsened and I felt irritable constantly. I was rushed into hospital after my BP readings were very high 170-190/95 (at rest) and my kidneys were leaking protein, indicative of inflamed kidneys. Everything else was fine about them.
Back then I never linked this to PMO. Didn't even cross my mind and tbh i never even considered an addiction.
Since then I have tried everything from extreme medication (regret taking this), keto diet, relaxation techniques, paleo diet etc etc. all fairly controlled. Had no consistent positive results and so have had to deal with these symptoms since, as per doctors recommedations.
Then a few weeks ago I began to read about nofap, pmo etc and everything resonated with my life. I could write a book about my PMO experiences and will happily elaborate. For now though I will say that I was shocked and I immediately stopped PMO cold turkey. Been through the usual withdrawals since but have noticed that my BP has slowly started to creep down and I feel more relaxed (used to get a pulsation in temples at night on side) and notice that after any mild exercise that I calm down quicker as if my BP is more under control.
Its early days but I'm convinced that BP and PMO are related, perhaps as some have said due to CNS /limbic system screwed up (perhaps it effects some LowBP and some HighBP). I'm very strong at committing to change and will keep track of my BP regularly. Literally just checked it and 140/82 was read. Normally I'm about 155/90.
Looking back to my past, I had a period where I suffered from panic attacks and anxiety (mainly whilst watching movies or stressful football matches. HighBP always accompanied). These lasted about a year and then disappeared but never linked to possible PMO/withdrawal etc. (I had periods where I was away travelling with little access to internet). Could this be an explanation?!
There's very little professional advice to suggest it but these forums make me wonder whether this is the reason for everything I've been through my life. I'm ready to find out!!!
