I am on day 7 of nofap, my first ever nofap streak prior to this was 78 days hardmode and this is my second streak because I relapsed on day 78. I noticed my Blood Pressure is 140/90. Before I never had high BP when I use to masturbate but since abstinence I recorded high bp. Is it due to abstinence from Masturbation? I know many other fapstronaut have high bp too but they don't know may be. Can we all post our blood pressure readings so that there will be assurance if its safe. I also had screening with Dr.
He gave me BP Med but I didn't discuss about this masturbation abstinence.

Can you rule other factors that may cause BP?

I noticed that too in myself and have wondered about this. I’m not sure if this is an effect of NoFap because that means monks all would have high blood pressure but it’s a great question. I’m curious to know if others have this.

I feel that masturbation (and porn) very much impacts our health. Blood pressure, blood sugar, etc. all seem to be impacted. The complex human body is so interconnected that it may be unwise not to at least consider the possible impacts.

One addiction that DOES have a demonstrated impact on blood pressure. Quitting alcohol can raise blood pressure--at least temporarily. Eventually, once the withdrawals are over, it lowers it. But higher blood pressure is a symptom of withdrawal. Perhaps higher blood pressure is a symptom of PMO withdrawal.

Indeed. I have noticed mine is higher. I'm curious if this is a common withdrawal sign in this addiction. At least three of us have noticed this. I wonder if others notice this. If so, please chime in and contribute to this.

If I rule other things those might be stress, anxiety, etc but let me remind you these are also caused by masturbation abstinence, Directly or Indirectly its PMO abstinence which increases blood pressure because of that adrenaline.

Yeah!! Bro it is I think its due to withdrawal because I never had this high bp before when I use to masturbate or watching porn but since NO PMO my readings are 140/90 or 138/85 around something. I think people are so busy in counting days and concentrating on NO PMO that they don't notice their blood pressure. And most of the addiction withdrawal increases blood pressure.

We need to contribute because its a serious matter, To come to the conclusion the best would be if other fapstronauts also post their views or readings regarding Blood Pressure during reboot.

Agreed Anurag12. Withdrawals ARE stress. Hard to argue against that. Stress does all sorts of bad things......high blood pressure.......increased eating to relieve stress....etc. etc.

Our addiction is a serious health issue. Let's never underestimate that.

Buddy I have done all sort of research on internet and the conclusion I got is it does increases blood pressure and also increased heart rate because of excessive dopamine conversion into sress hormone that's why people those who disconnect any sort sexual activities start feeling panic attacks and severe anxiety issues. Porn really messes up your body.

Yeah bro!! Severe withdrawals are the proofs that porn addiction messes up your body's biological system. Specially the neurotransmitters which gets disregulated with increased porn and masturbation. I don't have any fear regarding withdrawal except this blood pressure because its risky. So better take precautions before you begin your nofap journey.

It should resume back to normal levels once the withdrawals are all over and we continue to take care of our bodies healthy as well as maintaining a healthy mind and a healthy spirit as well.

Great thread here Anurag12. Thanks for bringing up the topic. There are so many threads here about "super powers" and such that we may fail to realize that the withdrawals are sometimes much more than simply annoyances.

By the way, how many smokers gained large amounts of weight when they quit smoking? A perfect example of how withdrawals can have other harmful effects.

My BP has increased this last 6 months including a period of no PMO of around 3 months and also very little PMO for the rest of the time. BP just now is still 153/94 and I have been given BP tablets with little effect.

Interesting! Another one too. Do you think this is due to the withdrawals of stopping PMO too?

Perhaps the official "symptoms of withdrawal" list should now include the potential for high blood pressure?
