I started watching pornography since I was 13. That's around 9 years ago, and since then I usually masturbated 2-3 times a week.

    Currently I suffer from:
    1. Peripheral neuropathy at all limbs (including constant pain)
    2. Bone Clicking at limbs
    3. Mild Hair Loss
    4. Memory Problems
    5. skin and scalp irritation and rash (Sometimes)
    6. Incoherent speech
    7. Muscle Loss
    8. Dry Eyes

I initially though I have Postorgasmic illness syndrome (POIS) but I found that my symptoms are fairly normal with regard to long term addiction. I have abstained from porn for around a week now. The memory, speech, and scalp problems heal fast but others remain.

I'm trying to figure out how much damage did I induce on myself, and is it permanent. To be honest, it's not relation or love that I'm after, but really a good healthy life which became like a dream for me at this moment in time.

I've a philosophy that not many of you would agree on, which is artificial/electronic entertainment is normalizing addiction. What I mean by normalizing is that it makes addictive behavior something normal in life. Examples are: Movies, Music, Video Games. I have the belief that abstaining from these aforementioned activities shall aid in fast healing.

From what I've heard, some symptoms take up to a few years to fully recover, but noticeable improvement is expected after a few months. So, I encourage you to go on with your journey. You will be fine.

Of course, if you are not sure about whether a symptom is caused by PMO, e.g. the symptom was there well before you first started PMO-ing, or there is extreme discomfort, then you may have it checked by a doctor.

I wish you success in your NoFap journey and recovery. :)

Thank you for sharing this. I totally agree with you!

After first joining this forum, I got a 63-day streak (No O). However, I kept indulging in video games all along, which often escalated to a lot of fantasies, edging, and peeking of inappropriate materials. After a bad relapse, I started this current streak. This time, I strictly banned video games, as well as tried to be mindful and stay away from random YouTube browsing (or other forms of Internet browsing). Now I have this streak, which is on hard mode (No PMO), and no video game. I felt my performance on NoFap is so much better without those artificial stimulations.

I sometimes still catch myself engaging in random browsing, as well as overindulging a bit on snacks and food (which are partly artificial, with tons of additives) though, and I need to try harder on those.

103 days( Oct 02) is nothing to scoff about. well done desmond3. as for the snacks and food, these priorities are well down on the " food chain ", if you'll pardon the pun.
