im new to nofap, I have the hardest time getting over it. I'm 24 and I have a decent job but I could've had amazing ones but I'm anxious, out of energy, and depressed whenever I show up for interviews (and basically just life). I recently got out of a 2 year relationship (fapping didn't have too much to do with the breakup) but I'm struggling to cope with this and have been upping my fap since. Basically, I hate my life. I wake up every morning dreading the day ahead, my mind is in a forever fog and I can't concentrate at all, I've turned very awkward and get anxious when I talk to girls. I'm just always angry and have a short trigger. Sometimes I go a week without fapping then relapse and I went a week recently and relapsed again today. I feel awful and I don't know what it's like to feel good anymore. I need help big time. I'm starting today for I guess a 30 or 90 day reboot. When do some benefits start? I honestly start to feel good a week in every time before I relapse. I just know if I walk around depressed any longer in my life I'm not going to get anywhere. I'm 24 and not where I want to be in life at all. What do you guys do to fight the urge?

If you educate yourself more on what porn addiction is or addiction in general, you get more knowledge and more knowledge leads to you being able to control yourself because you know more about why you act in certain ways in different scenarios. That is what I did and it has helped me tremendous on no PMO but as well on other addictions that I had, on the urges I usually deny any sexual thoughts I get, not replacing them with other, just simply once it starts, I stop it

Goodluck on your journey :) this is a forum where people are very helpful and not judgemental (most of the times)

You're awesome thank you. It's so tough when I have no one to talk to about it. Do you have any links you would like to share for me to read? Thanks again a ton

@Fti9 welcome to nofap. You are still young and curing this disease will help save many years in life as PMO is a sinkhole for energy and time.
For me coming to this site regularly helps me stay motivated and I completely avoid watching any tempting material and reduced alcohol in take. So I advise you the same come here regularly and you will make progress.
    I wish you good luck.

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and sometimes challenge you but not judge you.

What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?

  8. Hi @Fti9 , welcome to NoFap
It is a big step if you can understand what is triggering your urges, because this will allow you to be awake and kill those urges as soon as they appear.

To get more focus and feel happier with life I recommend you to start doing meditation.. I have been using an App called Headspace for the last two months which is great if you have never meditated before. The first 10 sessions are free if you want to give a try. I used to feel a bit depressed or feeling without energy to start new projects in my life, and meditation has helped me a lot with this.

I recommend you to create your own "Emergency Toolbox" with readings that can be handy to read when you start feeling urges to screw up.
I can share this post with you with my own Emergency Toolbox, it helped me a lot during the first few months, i had them in my cell and read them every time I started falling down:

I wrote some tips in this post that perhaps will help you too:

You can watch some interesting videos which are also very helpful in this post:

I also suggest you to read "Breaking the Cycle" by George Collins, it is a must-read if you are serious about getting rid of this addiction.

Last but not least, I would strongly recommend you to take the NoFap Academy course if you can afford it. The course is great but the best value are the weekly video calls with @alexander (the creator of NoFap and NoFap Academy) and Mark Queppet, where you can chat with them in real life and listen to other guys's stories and problems too.

I hope that all this helps you to fight this shitty addiction.
    Let's keep on fighting

    Fercho
