I freak out and shiver over the smallest of issues and I also check the lights and door like 10 times every time I leave a room.
Well...your "anxiety disorder" is kind of vague. There's just so many types: phobias, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, and OCD just like the other guys mentioned. Although, OCD is not an official anxiety disorder because it deals not only with anxiety, but repetitive self-destructive behaviors that usually result from abnormal thoughts, emotions, and feelings. I took abnormal psychology once lol. Anyway, there is so many factors as to why you claim you have an anxiety disorder. First of all, you need to be more descriptive. All you mentioned in your post was like 2 sentences man. We're trying to help you out, so don't be afraid. In my own perspective (although I'm not a psychologist) I would say you have generalized anxiety. Basically, you're getting anxious all the time and sometimes for no apparent reason. You worry about one thing and then another thing throughout the entire day. Unlike social anxiety or PTSD, a specific type of anxiety disorder, these 2 relate to something specific such as social settings that provoke fear or a traumatic event. Sometimes anxiety disorders don't come up until later in life; other factors include genetics, environment, cultural issues, etc. If it's really bothering you and especially if it's happening for several months, I suggest you see a psychologist to help you out. I hope the best for you man.
Oh hi, I haven't been here for a while. My anxiety normally comes with stress and the OCD intensifies afterwards. My main anxiety is health anxiety which is tied to germs phobia. I am much better now
Well that's good, at least you know what you have. It's also good that you are feeling better as well. Trust me, I've dealt with anxiety my whole life. It sucks, I know that for a fact. But one thing for sure, is that it's not going to kill you, and in the end, you're still alive. It's just how you deal with it. For me, I cope with exercise, eating healthy, getting enough sleep which is HUGE, etc. Reading books on anxiety disorders really helps as well. The more you know about yourself, the better. Good luck man.
I use to check the alarm clock ten times at night, verbally mentioning it to the wife. 10H45! 10H45! 10H45! 10H45! OMG the wife laughs. I also triple check the locks on the doors before going to bed. I triple check that the door is locked when I leave the house. I got a good job and successful career. My alarm clock always goes off and my doors are always locked! If you freak over the smallest issues, maybe you have something else? Germ phobia is a compulsive behavior, but fairly common. You're NOT that weird! Cheers!
i chech lights in a room too. i get irritated when someone dont close my room door. sometimes when im walking, i make eye contact with a beautiful girl or some other person and then my eyes automatically starts to fill with tears and um so cal but wtf is that? im cool with friends and bond with them is strong. you just need some good friends and i believe you will find them soon coz you noticed your problem and are looking for answers..! all the best bro..stay strong..!!
Me 2, I have an issue with the cooker in my house before I go to bed or leave the house I always check it 3 or 4 times that I've turned it off from the mains as worried that a fire could start, do you have any professional help for it? I've also suffered with stress and currently seeking help and doing a stress group course and it's going well also staying away from Porn has helped me become a calmer and less angry individual.
starts to fill with tears and um so cal but wtf is that?.........................any way to avoid this situation.
I think a lot of people have similar issues it is fairly common, but some people have more anxiety than others. I have Asperger's which includes Anxiety and OCD, so I do very similar things.
