Hello Everybody, as a child, I allready was interessed in porn, it kinda attracted me. And i did not understood why, so it started really early. I was addicted to pornographie as a child, and now I am an adult. I was good in school and even good in work, but i could do better, I destroyed so much with my addiction, and I hate it, I hate it, that I can not say No. The longest time, without PMO, was 2 Months, it was haaaaard, but good. And after I failed and many people hated me, because i made a mistake, i could not get up. I cancelled internet, do not a smartphone anymore, I use only one app on an ipad with guided access, because restriction doesn´t work, you can bypass it. Once I used Whatsapp with guided access, but than giphy came, and so even that is something i need to remove. I eat and take pills (nootropic) to regenerate the dopamin receptors, did sports, read books about addiction, habits, willpower. If I know, I can watch now porn, my willpower drains, and I cannot say No after 15- 45 Minutes. Now, I have a chance to trick others, to watch porn, or I wouldn´t be able to write into this thread. I hate my addiction, I hate it, that I can not control it, I just hate it. I don´t want it, i feel terrible, I know how false this is, there is nothing good about pornographie, I just don´t have to motivation to fight, I don´t know if somebody can help, or NoFap will be able to help. I just want control, and don´t suffer in front of a pc smartphone tablet etc. But the motivation to fight is lost. Cheers, Jonny
Welcome @Jonny1992, I'm glad you're here. Remember, it is one day at a time. That attitude makes a big difference. I hope you keep coming back.
Hey @Jonny1992 , Just another warm welcome and a heart felt hello. This community has helped me so much. First, reading the literature published by NoFap itself along with reading journals. Then, doing the work. Writing in my journal and replying to introductions and other's journals. Lastyly, but not least, getting involved with the fellowship. I found it on the forums, but also in people's profiles. The forums tend to be longer posts, where the profiles tend to be more "conversational". That is what has worked for me. I like to remind myself that this community was here waiting for me with the lights on when I arrived. Now, I have to do my best to be there when someone comes to the community. - L
One of the ways I got involved with the fellowship was by reading some really great journals. I've included journals from all age groups, spiritual members, religious members, secular members, male and female. You should find journals that help. If not, look around, there are hundreds of others from which to choose. When I say "it works if you work it", reading journals is part of that work. Once you open a journal, click "Watch Thread" in the upper right of the page to get alerts when new posts are made. Here are just a few: @DavidGibson Journals at: https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/143325/ --- @Euklid Journals at: https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/146663/ --- @LilD Journals at: https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/147764/ --- @BreatheDeeply Journals at: https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/139097/ --- @LiquidShoes Journals at: https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/134044/ --- @Reverent Journals at: https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/143845/ --- @zakes Journals at: https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/149243/ --- @Former_CD Journals at: https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/87827/ --- @PatrickR Journals at: https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/139570/ --- There are many more, and you can discover them on your own. But, these are great places to start. This is a work in progress. So, if a journal has changed or is no longer active, look around there are some amazing journals on here. - L
@StopTheMusic thank you, I read a lot. I want to find out more about the attitude to think about one day. Do you got an article about that?
@Jonny1992 , The resources listed on the "New Users: List of Rebooting Resources" helped me find my way around the reasons behind the program and the terms used. They are: Download the free Getting Started guide. Set up a PMO-Counter Badge. More info here! Basic introduction to the science of porn addiction! Basic information about rebooting and how our challenges can help you recover from PMO. This is the most important page to read. If you only can read one page, read this one. About NoFap. Watch this video - it is an epic intro resource if you want to get particular details about porn addiction and how it changes how your brain works. This is a good light-weight video about porn addiction. Read through the journal sections and see what other rebooters have experienced. It is good to know what to expect, otherwise the "chaser effect", "the surge", or the "flatline" might throw you off. If you come across vocabulary that you can't understand, check out our rebooting glossary of terms. GET ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR HABITS! Sign up for a peer accountability partner. Otherwise if you want more professional-hosted solutions, check out NoFap Premium or Reboot Camp. If you can afford to invest in yourself, these are great options. You can find this same list on the top of the forum you posted this message on at - the "New to NoFap" forum. Hope that helped, - L
