Help! Spiralling out of control and spent $110 on my addiction

Discussion in 'Compulsive Sexual Behavior' started by Deleted Account, Sep 24, 2023.

  1. I bought $60 worth of nail polish, two $20 audio hypnosis clips, and $10 of foot pics. I need desperate help. I have been addicted to PMO since 2014. I mainly watch porn on my iPad and iPhone. I tried porn blockers to no avail. I tried talking to a therapist twice, and they couldn't help me. I feel so stupid having wasted money on my addiction. I went from vanilla porn to extreme porn genres like sissy hypno, to acting out my addiction in real life by catfishing as a woman on Facebook marketplace, and buying foot pics and nail polish. And I paid $40 to this sissy mistress on their website. I never thought I'd spend my own real money on my addiction. God! I'm so stupid. The cause of my addiction is I've been having long term stress being stuck in a toxic, abusive situation where I'm the one being abused emotionally non stop. I'm 25 almost 26 years old now. I thought I could leave it, while looking at porn to cope with the stress. But I just keep escalating and escalating my addiction. What should I do? I had the idea to take photos of my iPad to put up on eBay, but keep chickening out. Then there's my phone, I have to have a phone. Maybe because the screen is small I won't be tempted as much? I am so scared. I'm afraid of myself and what I might do the next time I watch porn. It's nothing illegal but still harmful to myself.

Now? Like recently? Then you have got to find a way to prevent this ASAP. Have someone you know handle your transactions or something like that

  4. You say it relieves stress, but in fact, it generates the stress you're trying to relieve. It's absolute nonsense to continue using sissy porn if you want to have the stress go away.

  5. @I Hate PMO is right. The temporary rush from this fetish is highly outweighed by the crash that follows, not to mention its long-term damage to one's self-esteem. It's a net loss, a spiral down, an abyss. If it continues to escalate then the fallout can be much much worse: anxiety, depression, identity confusion, and even acting out in real life which, once done, can never be taken back.

It's very potent stuff and it messes with people minds. In my opinion you need to find more healthy ways to deal with stress, build your self-discipline, and avoid this kind of porn completely.

Can you still go and return the items? You shouldn't feel too bad about this... $110 is not that much, and you still are young enough to recover

I think a main cause of this fetish you have... as well as many other guys on here.. is that it is just a continuation of the desire for a woman.. but instead of seeking one externally in the real world, you are in a sense creating a woman out of yourself. It is purely porn induced and a result of intense craving and desire... it is escalation.. doing anxiety inducing things in order to get a bigger dopamine rush..

you can try looking up a guy online by the name of "Soaring Eagle"... he wrote a step by step guide on how to get out of PMO addiction

Side note, some of us on here are married with children...so this becomes a multi faceted issue that can be very complex. Not at all minimizing anybody else's struggles, just reiterating the importance of this community and where the addiction stems from...which you've noted - porn. I'm very grateful to be back and reading inspirational exchanges from other members.

  9. Could you explain how PMO generates the stress I am trying to relieve? Isn't the reason why I am using porn to escape a stressful environment and emotional pain?

Well, I think it is because PMO weakens our mental faculties… which causes us to not be able to handle daily tasks as easily… which causes us more stress than would occur if we were not using PMO as a soothing mechanism

Pretty much, if we don’t look at porn or masturbate, then we find healthy ways to deal with stress which makes us stronger in the long run, better able to handle stress, and more mentally stable overall

  11. If this stress is not PMO related, then why can't you relieve it by other means?

I understand. However, I still don't think it's relevant or productive at this time. OP is specifically asking for suggestions on what he should do to recover.

I personally find incredible support and recovery within a 12 step program. I supplement the program with additional tools such as therapy, recovery literature, prayer, meditation, exercise, healthy eating, sleep regimen, and most importantly, helping others. Though I don't claim to be perfect, or even somewhat close, when I actively implement those recovery tools in to my daily regimen, life gets better.

  16. I could, except I'm addicted and porn is just too convenient and accessible. I am selling my iPads now, and as I've gone without them I started watching porn on my phone like before. I put my phone in another room, I use content restrictions to block porn, and I end up disabling them when I get an urge and watch porn anyway. I have to watch porn before I sleep because I can't sleep all night until the morning unless I do. I decide to watch something like Netflix, TikTok or browse the Internet on my phone, and I always end up watching porn. Now my phone has become like a mini iPad, except the screen is smaller and there's less of a high than before. No matter how much I want to stop I can't because porn provides relief from pain, an escape, trance, something to do other than feel bad all the time, temporary relief from my depression, and temporary sexual release. If I stop, I always end up watching porn because it's just too tempting to have all that pain go away for a few hours. What am I supposed to do in this situation?

This sounds like a tough one. I get it. This appears to be escalation of the worst kind...the only real solution is find a reason to stop. A good reason. One that will make you think twice before indulging in this type of lifestyle.

Regularly participating in a 12 step group (if available) and seeking outside therapy could also provide some meaningful help...especially if there is existing, underlying issues that need to be worked through.
