Honestly, you have left out some of the greatest in history.

    No William Wyler?

    No Frank Capra?

    No John Huston?

    No Elia Kazan?

Cecille B DeMille? John Ford? Henry Hathaway? Howard Hawks? George Stevens?

The answer is Someone else, definately.

Spike Lee is at zero votes for a reason. If he had never played the race card, no one would ever have heard of him. His films are shit. I don't know who is the bigger turd: Spike Lee or Tarantino.

Or how about Michael Curtiz? I can't believe I left him out of the list I wrote in my last post. He directed everything, including Casablanca, Mildred Pierce, Yankee Doodle Dandy, The Adventures of Robin Hood, The Proud Rebel, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc,...

These films are a lot better than those directed by the broad who directed Wonder Woman and the other broad who directed A Wrinkle in Time, which I understand is a complete box office failure.

  6. @LEPAGE I don't think the OP meant any disrespect to directors that are considered legends from a film history point of view. But I think this is still more of a generational question. The Beach Boys for example were a musical reflection of a completely different time, which doesn't mean they are considered bad nowadays. So were movies from the classical Hollywood era a reflection of a different time, culturally and socially, and most people from a certain generation will probably identify more with modern cinema, with what they grew up watching on TV or the movie theatre, although they can still be able to appreciate 'older' movies.

For both quality and quantity... Spielberg and Ridley Scott

  9. Quentin Tarantino
    David Lynch
    Ingmar Bergman

  10. I should add Danny Boyle... It's a shame he no longer is going to be directing Bond.
