Do you use the website "meetup" to find people and things to do? It's a good site

    Hello,
    This is not an ad, and I'm not terribly lonely but I do struggle to meet more friends. About 2-years ago I found a site called meetup.com. It's not a dating site, it's a site where you can search for something you are interested in doing near you, i.e.: bowling, hiking, book clubs, happy hour, etc. Once you search you will find all sorts of people signing up to participate in the activity of your choice.
    In 2016 I'm trying to expand my social life and stay away from PMO. I'm using meetup.com to find at least 2 activities during the week to attend. I also usually do 1 activity on the weekends through meetup.com.

    I think it depends on the city. The only group I found on meetup that I liked was a makerspace where I learned how to use a 3d printer. The rest were lesbian (not the hot kind) hiking groups or things I couldn't afford. When I move out I'll try it (and groupon) again.

    That sounds pretty awesome! Unfortunately not much going on in my area, either, but for bigger cities I would imagine this is a pretty cool idea.

    I don't think you will find anything but good clean fun on the meetup site. Go back there and find something else to look up that maybe a healthier activity for you. - Good luck, stay strong.

    It's a little inconsistent in terms of location/age group etc. The variables mean that only large cities seem to have a good choice of events, but if you can find something, it's a great way to socialise.
