Do SSRIs help?

I was on Lexapro, and then went and saw a CSAT who switched me to Fluvoxamine. (150 mg/day). It definitely reduces the libido a LOT, but it also helps with the compulsive need to act out.

 

Avoid SSRIs. You will need another different journey of withdrawals , different from PMO.

 

You can decide to take either SSRIs or SNRIs. But only do so with the guidance of a doctor.

 

Hello, i was exactly in your situation one year ago when i was asking other people the same thing and now after a one year on Sertraline (SSRI) and then Alventa (SNRI) i can tell you my version. Btw i have also major depression and anxiety thats the reason why iam taking that meds. So yes my libido decreased but even though my p and s addiction became maybe even stronger and harder than before, i stared to watch p even when i was not horny, just because i was searching for dopamine, but this schould not be your case. But my opinion on SSRI and PMO addiction is that do not expect miracles, i would be very surprised if there is a person who only need SSRI to get rid of this addiction. But you may be addicten because of depression etc. so if you need SSRI, dont be afraid of them !! and please dont listen other people. But dont expect that SSRI gonna solve everything but if you need them it’s neccessary for your journey.

I agree....any drug like that will develop co-dependency to using them.

 

I started taking small 10 mg Citalopram about 5 months ago. And this is the best I’ve done in years. Everyone’s chemical balance is different but have learnt that hyper sexuality is better treated as a compulsion. I have adhd with some ocd traits. The tablets helped with the obsessive rumination, anxiety and depression. So I was a lot less compulsive at trying to escape the obsessing part. I used intense sex as a way to escape my hectic stressing mind and if I’d been giving myself crap more trashy stuff like trans or femdom became apparent. I’ve stopped drinking booze too and had lots of therapy and do a lot of daily work and reaching out so it’s not just the pills but they e helped me loads and am loads more chilled around nice women too. Funnily enough a lot less homo erotic with strap on stuff and ts. The last time I visited a dom escort I ended up smashing her lol (I’m not encouraging this btw) They make you last forever in bed too. If you can avoid meds great but some could just be the right balance you’re trying to balance out with porn etc. Mine made me a bit of a zombie for the first 2-3 weeks with no libido and then felt pretty good

 

I’m taking ssris. I have a long streak. Flat libido. But I have removed triggers and put a safety filters in place. Ssris are good if you have depression. Start off at a low dose. See how you feel. To withdraw from them you need to do a slow but reasonably quick taper. Your mind will start shooting bullets and fireworks whilst coming off then but this doesn’t last long only a few days. Best to take also a side effect tablet with them called procyladine when coming off them . Ssris can cause weight gain and also sedate you a lot and a reduced metabolism making it difficult to move around.

 

It can help with depression and nofap. But make sure if you take them and you have a long nofap streak you do not relapse. Previously I was on a 700 day streak and came off all my medications when I got the 90-120 day mark. Nofap cures pmo induced depression. Trust me.

 

But it can also affect your driving and night vision causing bright lights and night blindness and confusion whilst driving. If you drive local should be fine but motorways could be a problem!
