    Damn "they" hurt right now.

I've made attempts to quit PMO before and almost without fail around day 4 or 5 I feel like i've been kicked right in the crotch! If I can manage to get around a week or so it will start to subside. Of course during past attempts, M-ing always soothed things, but that totally defeats the purpose right? Just gotta ride it out.

I don't mean to get TMI on anyone but basically the boys ache like crazy and even sometimes around the base of my shaft it feels like I've got a ****ring on it too tight.

Anyone else experience this? I just want to know if this is "normal".

Hasn't happened to me. I went 30 days once, no problems. They ached after that relapse though.

Used to happen to me when I was looking at porn and edging but not orgasming. When I stop looking at porn and avoided arousal there was no blue balls problem. Blue balls happens if there is arousal and no outlet. If you can keep your arousal down you shouldnt experience blue balls - believe me when I had it it was REALLY bad, and I searched the internet constantly for solutions.

I experienced some fullness and achiness in the balls. Your body is used to overproducing semen. It went away after a couple weeks.

    Are you edging Janus?

  7. I can relate. After being PMO free for about a week I met a girl living over an hour away that spoke raves about my photo and how she wanted me. Fortunately I don't have a car and neither does she, however we ended up having phone sex in which I became aroused but didn't allow myself to ejaculate. I figured as long as I've avoided that I haven't lost any energy or exacerbated my brain connections and dopamine hardware. However, the next day, I ended up relapsing due to the pain.

I'm back and none too wiser for the wear.

IGY, no, absolutely not. I haven't edged, fapped or looked at any erotic imagery in almost 5 days.

Haven't had sex with my wife in about 7 days either.

I had an issue similar. I would get pains after I peed. Apparently your prostate makes the fluid that, when mixed with sperm, makes semen. If you are used to emptying everyday, than your prostate is in high gear. That excess fluid that you aren't releasing is the origin of "blue balls" if I am correct in my research.

I've been experiencing this a lot in the past couple of weeks and at first I wasn't sure what it was. It would occur with almost clockwork regularity after I'd been intimate with my girlfriend. Nothing too heavy, just make out sessions after which I'd be paralysed in pain, unable to walk properly or move with any sort of freedom. It was like nothing I've ever experienced before. At first I thought there was something wrong with me but then last night I had an intense wet dream that turned my winter sheets into a wet sponge. After that I felt no pain whatsoever. I guess the build up cam get too intense, especially if you've been used to releasing on a daily basis.

I spoke with my counsellor brother about this and he made a personal recommendation of fapping once a month. Of course I questioned his advice immediately but would like to hear from you guys what you think about fapping away the pain. Which at times was so intense that I thought I would need an ambulance if my balls went nuclear.

How can no MO be reasonable when we experience this pain? I started experience it lately and am considering what it means.

You should not get this pain unless you are edging a lot or having sex with an SO and not coming a lot. There is no such thing as "blue balls". It was a term that was coined by assholes who bitched about their women not letting them cum.

If you aren't doing any of that, there may be something else wrong with you. Something much worst than pain in your balls. As you can see I have been doing this for awhile and I have never experienced such ridiculousness. There are many others who have gone longer than me and still don't feel this.

Either stop edging, stop not coming in sex, or see a doctor because this has nothing to do with your masturbation habits.

There are people on here who have gone hundreds, even thousands of days without M and don't have this problem. It is something you are doing wrong. Also, if you are having regular sex with a SO, you shouldn't be having wet dreams unless you are fantasizing a lot. It causes abnormal build-up of cum in the prostate that is released in wet dreams.

This sounds fairly normal to me. In the early days of any streak (especially if you have just recently come off high PMO use), you will experience some mighty strange withdrawal symptoms. Blue balls is just one of these symptoms. I would attribute the physical withdrawal symptoms we experience to the vast psychological change we have just gone through (regular and intense porn use/ masturbation to nothing). Don't quote on me on that though, it's just a theory.

Either way, it sounds like you've got things figured out Janus. Yes, masturbating would relieve the tension but would also defeat the purpose of doing nofap. You are right that if you ride it out you will be rewarded. For now, you need to be aware that your blue balls may continue for a little while. Therefore you must be mentally prepared to ride it out until the pain goes away. Good luck.

I still get blue balls and quite a few others do too. It is one consequence of not having any form of sexual release (other than wet dreams).

    Hmm.

Is there something you would like to add? Obviously, you believe there to be such a thing and you disagree with me. As is your right, but through research and boredom I have found that it isn't actually a thing, but just a term for when you feel pain in your balls after having sex and not coming or that's what most people use it for. It was originally made for a guy to give a reason for being angry for not coming after sex. A reason to whine if you will.

It would be understandable to use this term if you were having sex, but having this pain when you are not masturbating I would not consider it normal unless you are edging. Otherwise you are fantasizing too much and your body is telling you it's too much. I'm not say that you are doing this, just that there is no logical reason you should be feeling that pain unless you are behaving in a bad manner of sorts

Yes I do believe blue balls to be a real phenomenon. I have experienced it in the past, a dull ache in the testicles and with them feeling heavy. I know others who have had long stints of abstinence have had blue balls in the past as well. Perhaps they could share some light on this.

You are right when you say that blue balls could be the result of edging or fantasising. However I believe that the heavy feeling in the testicles many experience would not necessarily be caused by not cumming during sexual arousal, rather exacerbated by it. The problem with most of the articles on the net on this topic is that most of them regard people who are having sex relatively regularly. It is more difficult to research a relevant sample size for those who are effectively celibate. I've had this dull aching in the past through periods of minimal sexual arousal. It is for this reason that I do not think it is necessarily caused by denied sexual release after arousal.

Actually I take that back. I'm sure lots of people are celibate for long periods throughout their lives.

Celibate from sex maybe. It's very unlikely to find someone who hasn't used porn nowadays which is horrible. I agree that the feeling in your testicals is real and that it is a thing, but I think I may be arguing semantics because my original post was just trying to tell people that "blue balls" isn't a real thing. It doesn't just happen out of nowhere and cause you pain.

There is something similar (what I'm guessing most of you guys are experiencing) from build-up of semen that is completely healthy and something the body does on its own. The only variable is that if it doesn't go away after awhile and keeps coming back then there is something wrong. Because when you are not having sex and not masturbating the body must release the excess semen through some way (wet dreams) and if it continues to hurt you may have an infection.

However, this is not caused by not masturbating. It is caused from excess stimulation without release. My point is, just be careful.
