Hello everyone, previously I completed a 90 day challenge while waiting for my long distance girlfriend to come to my country for the first time: https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.p...ge-until-my-girlfriend-comes-to-visit.195147/ During that time I achieved my longest streak ever of no P at 102 days! I had an amazing time with my girlfriend and enjoyed every second I spent with her. Immediately after she left I relapsed, however I was still proud of myself for waiting so long successfully for her to visit. The past 2 weeks since she has gone away have been rough, I've become a bit of mess but I know I have what it takes to get back on track. I like to have a round number to aim for as I previously aimed for a 90 day streak, this time she will be visiting again in only 60 days! It will still be a challenge but I know I can do it, I will be moving to a new city tomorrow and starting my new job by the end of the month, these two things are stressing me out a bit but it seems like a perfect time to turn over a new leaf and start a new streak to me. Last time I posted daily updates until around day 40 when I felt confident and very settled in to a better way of being. I'll keep some updates going here likely for a similar time frame, or however long I feel I need to. In my previous thread I talked a lot about applying for lots of jobs and how worried I was about finding one. Now I have a job in my field of study, except I don't like my field at all. And the city I am moving to is ridiculously expensive so I will be pretty much living paycheck to paycheck. I can only hope I will have some time to work on my music side project in the meantime, which is my true dream. That and to marry my girlfriend when the time is right, she's been thinking about getting an international license to make it easier for her to get a job in my country is which is very exciting. I have been using PMO to relieve stress lately but there are no good excuses for that, at this point I finally have a place to live and job and all I need to do is start developing my routine and adhering to my strict budget. For the next 60 days and beyond I'm aiming to beat my 103 day record for my own sake and for everyone I love. (I reset my counter but it says it won't show up as day 0 for a little bit)
Day 2 Check In: Went to bed at 4:30am after finally putting my IKEA bed together. Hopefully will be able to call my girlfriend today but there isn’t any WiFi in my new apartment, I’ve still got so many things to buy and my roommate hasn’t been helpful at all with buying essentials. Pretty low urges today and we don’t have WiFi so I have no access to P anyway which is great. I’m sure I’ll be more stressed once work really starts next week but for now all I’ve got to do is prepare and adjust.
Hey man! Im in a similar situation. My long distance girlfriend will be visiting me in June, so I am trying to abstain from PMO until then. Kudos to you, love hearing another couple doing LDR, hope everything goes well, and I know your efforts of nofap will bring you huge benefits. Good luck!
@insomniyac good luck to you too man! It’s tough but it’s inspiring hearing about others in the same situation. Day 11 Check In: Coming up on the 2 week mark now, been so busy with work & moving that there’s really no time to waste. I need to study after work too so I have to buy some online video lessons to watch instead of YouTube after work. My girlfriend has been having trouble dealing with her parents, I’d like her to come for the full 2 months of her break but her parents are only allowing 2 weeks... it’s tough because I have work during that time & wont be able to see her for much of the day anyway. But she’s been so distraught with her parents becoming angry with her that she doesn’t want to disobey them & come longer than they say. It’s very annoying to me as I still think she should come anyway, she’s abroad herself right now & her parents can’t do anything to stop her. Yet they are so stuck in their own outdated beliefs that they won’t allow her to visit as long as she could. I can’t help but be frustrated with them for being ridiculous about this. She’s been trying to convince them but at this point she has been crying all day and worrying about them so she’s decided to give up going against them anymore. I really believe that living together for her break would be a great experience before we get married to see how it goes for the both of us. It’s hard to get that full experience over just 2 weeks. But her parents absolutely forbid living together before marriage. Which I can understand a bit but we don’t have any other option here to stay together for a long time. Or my girlfriend could also stay with my grandmother so she won’t be living with me during the time. I just feel so frustrated with her parents, I haven’t been able to talk to them at all only my girlfriend has been talking to them, and maybe I would just make the situation worse if they get mad at me. It’s stressful to think about all this when I just started work literally yesterday and still have a lot of furniture to build for my new place. I know everything will work out in the end but it’s still frazzling me.
Tough situation man, hope everything works out in the end. At the end of the day I think if the feelings are strong enough for the both of you, nothing much will come in the way with you living with each other, but it is tricky to balance decisions that do the least harm, especially when family are involved...
