I would like to overcome a very serious porn addiction that has and continues to ruin my life.

I am a 35-year-old male in Toronto, Canada. I have suffered from porn addiction, and over masturbation for as long as I can remember. On the face of things, I am in a healthy relationship, and successful at work. I am social and positive, and while my partner knows I have sexual dysfunction, I have never confided the true extent of my porn addiction with her. I am embarrassed and also find it very difficult to abstain from pornography. My problems go further than just pornography. I am a full blown sex addict in many ways, but porn is a huge factor in my life and I am tired of spending hours watching porn and masturbating to it. Something has got to change. It's a curse of sorts, but one I am hell bent on overcoming.

I suffer from peyronie's disease and bad sex with my partner. I am also constantly thinking of porn.

Today I am beginning a 30 day PM challenge, to abstain from watching porn and masturbating. I would like to have good sex with my partner, who I have let down again and again by spending hours late at night watching porn and masturbating.

I am hoping this is the beginning of serious change for me. I appreciate the community and I am appreciative of the support and also hope to support others in their challenge.

    Thank you all,
    Max

  2. Hi. Welcome to forum!

Make sure you crate a personal journal thread in Reboot Logs section and blog there on a regular basis. As well as just generally be active participant in various forum discussions. I recommend this to everybody new here because it's the major thing that helped me when I was first starting. Just lurking on forums, reading and learning is great. But it usually is so much more powerful to engage. It helps to keep us motivated and accountable when we are active part of community. And keeps this in front of our minds so we don't forget about importance of it and slip away in our old habits.

I would also like to suggest you to look into mindfulness meditation. It has helped me personally tremendously. It takes a while to get good at it and notice results, so you need to be consistent with it, but once you do it's very powerful. Check out this Ted talk, it gives a good idea of what's it about.

Wish you lot's of strength and success in your reboot journey!
