    You have to be single-minded no matter sleep or awake , which can take quite a while to settle. Certain stretches can be helpful as well as moderate diet and sleep routine and hygiene.

    Complacency and overconfidence are what I can say. However, in hindsight, now that I think about it, anxiety was building in the background, especially after the turn of the year with all my expectations of making this year the year that I finally change for the better. And I don't deal well with being overly anxious. Therefore, instead of putting my phone in the lockbox as I usually do before bedtime, I took it with me to bed and started surfing the web aimlessly. I probably had subconsciously decided I was going to watch some 'soft porn', it just had not registered consciously. Anyway, it is back to the drawing board and learning the hard lessons.

    Day 0. The issue is motivation and focus. When the motivation for nofap is strong, I can build a day or a streak. When I focus on some other urgent things and see that my personal goals need to be put aside, I just want to "reward" myself or "lift my spirits" for a while. I should have ignored the urge without considering any other options but just going to sleep.

    You are definitely right about focus. I think focus is the superpower we need to develop in a world inundated with distractions at every turn. I have a love-hate relationship with motivation as it disappears from me when I most need it :D.
