Is quitting caffeine mantadory?

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Dec 14, 2021.

  1. Like, is it really needed to quit pmo. I read a lot of stories that caffeine increases dopamine this increasing urges, also contributes to had sleep and some other not so good stuff.

What do u fellas think about this?

  2. I don't think quit caffeine is mandatory. I'm not a coffee drinker but do drink pre workout supplements which have caffeine in them and have consistently used it while on my current streak.

I would recommend that if you are going to drink caffeine to monitor how much you are having and watch how it makes you feel. Too much can make you jittery and too late in the day, the caffeine could mess with your sleep cycle.

  3. No. Caffeine has nothing to do with your no PMO journey.

  5. Haha! Only you can answer this question.
Some people can quit PMO and enjoy caffeine.
Some people can't quit PMO regardless of their caffeine consumption.

Personally, I think it has been a contributing factor in nearly every relapse that I have had.
Sugar and caffeine can make me anxious. A lot of either, or both in combination, almost guarantees anxiety. I also struggle with a propensity for edging, so if I'm already aroused and a little anxious, sometimes I'll binge on caffeine and sugar to "take it to the edge" - this never helps anything. Even if I don't ultimately relapse that day . . . it sets me up for failure in the future.

My guess is that most people would benefit from less caffeine . . .

Probably the question is just not the right one. I would probably ask to myself : "is caffeine interfering with my sleep? " ...For myself having sleepless night could be a huge trigger to PMO so i'm doing all i can in order to avoid that. That said i still drink coffee once a day after i wake up, for the rest of the day i moved on teas or just water.
