I don’t know what to do anymore. I smoke, I masturbate almost everyday I pray like crazy and it doesn’t change anything. I have exam tomorrow and how can I look people in the eyes if I was constantly relapsing and even relapsed a day before this exam. I will be so drained and weak. I don’t know I don’t feel God’s presence, I ask him for sign or anything but I can’t overcome this sin. I CANT GO LONGER THAN SEVEN DAYS FOR TWO YEARS ALMOST. I just want to fall asleep and never wake up again. And I know what you all are going to say. That I should seek treatment and read Bible, well I can’t. My parents will know about my addiction, my brother everybody around me and reading Bible won’t change anything I read random verses from Bible and it doesn’t heal me, what should I do?

Your heart is longing for nurture and God's acceptance. Check this out, as he has helped me out of a deep cycle of sinning and feeling hopeless.

The Bible can be tough to focus on. Try an easier book that helps keep your mind active. I'm reading "Providence" by John Piper. If you don't want to read try listening to music or podcasts. Just anything to distract you

@Sean Edie Rend Collective is my favorite! They speak to me like not many do and best of all their songs are based on scripture!

Don’t just read the verses but spend quality time thinking about what they mean (a study Bible helps here, or gotquestions.org) and let God change your heart. I think about this a lot so please message if you want to chat over it more

- The root of our sins are our sinful hearts (Jeremiah 17:9)
- Our actions change when our heart changes (1 Tim. 1:5; 1 Kings 8:57-58)
- It is God who changes our hearts (Psalm 51:10-12, 2 Thess. 3:5)
- He starts by forgiving us through Jesus (Hebrews 9:13-14; 10:22)
- And uses trials (James 1:2-4) and His word: the Bible (Psalm 1:1-3; Deut 11:18) to change us

Maybe it's time you told your family. Have you considered that hiding your sin gives it more power? If everyone thinks you are okay, you beat yourself up because you do mot live up to the expectations you think they have. They may also be able to help. Sometimes just talking to them in those moments will solve it.

I've been there, I have a 4-day streak after almost 4 years of trying to break free. I got to 107 by checking in with an accountability partner and using porn blockers. My current low streak is because I stopped checking in. Reading the

Reading the Bible increases temptation since Satan sees you trying to grow closer to God. I suggest memorizing 1 Corinthians 6:18 since it reminds you to FLEE instead of persevering or slowly backing away. I would also recommend finding a godly accountability partner. Reading the Bible and praying like crazy didn't cure me, either. You do need God to fix your lust issue, but you also need to find your triggers and eliminate them. I use porn blockers on my phone and laptop and they help tremendously. I will be praying for you!

Keep trying but be patient with yourself. Pray from your heart each and every day and God will find the means and the timing to give you the grace you need to succeed. Doubt, despair, diffidence, these are all tools of the devil. Don't let the bastard win.

It’s not about winning or losing, it’s about gaining freedom, gaining a new grip on life. You should seek enlightenment in form of sure knowledge of the mutual connection of what you cannot avoid (i.e. relapsing) Andalusia

[pardon, last word isn’t Andalusia, that was a typo] ... and the negative consequences in the aftermath of it that drag you down. Reading the Holy Scripture is basically never wrong, but if you can’t encompass all the good word at once, try to cling to what you remember and what has worked as good advice from God in the past. Try to not break up with God.
