Your Leadership advice to me

I am in the navy and just became a third class petty officer, I have just stepped into being a leader and I desperately need advice, I admit the junior guys do not respect me in the least bit. What knowledge and experience can you guys share with me to help me grow as a leader? I want to be fair, honest, and God honoring. I actually have 1 rule of my own I just came up with based on how my LPO treats me, I will use everyone’s flaws and use them to build myself up.
Rule1
Do not say in private what cannot be said in public (do not talk bad about others in secret, do not tear people down in secret, do not make back handed comments in secret, if it is not constructive and building you up do not say it).
