Monies: plural for money. Saw this in a post on a vending machine at work. Had to Google it to see if it was an actual word
Money is uncountable noun so it doesn't have plural form. Monies is just the erronous form that some people use and somehow got added in dictionary. This concludes that if you use a word often enough it will eventually become a thing
I thought as much when I first read it. It just sounds too fucking dumb. After work that day I decided to look it up in a few dictionaries I have at home and couldn't find it. I did a little bit more research and found out exactly what you just stated. I find it a little alarming really. There are lots of people who just Google something and believe its true when its not including myself. Well now I know to dig a little deeper.
