Can someone please explain to me how society has allowed women / men to take so many pictures of themselves and upload to social media sites and become famous. For other men / women to mentality and physically masturbate too?

    Are we becoming more narcissistic?

Also are social media sites, hurting you in your NoFap. (For example you look at a picture of man / woman on facebook etc. Next thing you know you have PMO).

Ps. I detest the word "selfie"!

  2. I have no idea what's going on with society nowadays, it's pretty messed up if you think about it. We're actually getting more narcissistic in all honesty if you look at the selfies and stuff going on with society and for most people their world is self-centered. Ain't got nothing cool about society right now.

Social media sites actually does hurt my NoFap due to the amount of pictures girls/women take of themselves that godawfully create those temptations, but I'm not quitting them because they do come in handy and I believe that I can fight through a little bit of those obstacles (which are no longer obstacles once you get pass all the influences of porn).

Yes. We are becoming a society that is more narcissistic. Take selfies for example. I know you hate this word but think about it..it's called a "selfie" for crying out loud! How low will ppl get in order to get attention. Cameras were made to take pictures other than a persons self.

Also when it comes to social media. I will just tell you from experience..try to stay off of it. My last relapse was due to browsing photos of hot chicks on facebook who like to dress in skimpy outfits and show cleavage. Please..for the love of all things..stop using Facebook to PMO. I did and it brought me back to day 1. My advice is to limit your time on there and whenever you find yourself wasting at least 10 min looking at girls photos, even girls you don't know then walk away.

Did you know that facebook only shows you what it thinks you want to see, based on your previous clicking habits?
(When I go there for instance, I have to scroll through a lot of pictures of babies and pets, political blah blah blah, and adverts for soap and stuff.)

If facebook is showing you a lot of hot chick selfies, it's because facebook thinks that's the way to keep you addicted to facebook, based on YOUR previous behavior on the site.
It's a very clever and evil machine for keeping you clicking and viewing, whether you're reeled in by political outrage, cute animal videos, shoe sales, or images you can fap to.

I'd say it's a waste of time to shame other people (millions of them, it sounds like) when the part of the problem that makes those selfies affect you is something that you have the power to change. Namely, your own lack of self-control.
Exercise some self discipline, and you won't have to worry about what other people are doing.

The easiest way is probably to quit social media, but there is also software out there that will replace all images in your feed with pictures of bacon or kittens.
Or, if you're super-strong, start teaching facebook to show you wholesome stuff instead, and those cleavage pics will become rarer and rarer. Promise.

Stop blaming Facebook. EVERY post FB shows you has an option in the top right-hand corner for you to click on, and select an option that says "I don't want to see this". You can quickly unsubscribe from anything you previously "liked" that shows you things that might hurt your reboot. It's not Facebook being "evil", it Facebook giving you what you've previously asked for. If you want something else, ask for something else by changing your settings.

And yes, if it bothers you that much, quit it outright and stop giving it's advertisers click revenue.

Oh, hey, Steel Fury, is your middle name "Quick" by any chance?
I couldn't agree more, except for my opinion that facebook is a monster for preying upon the weak, among other reasons.
Why not reply to the OP while you're at it? That's what I was doing.

It's probably true about Facebook and social media leading to more narcissism or at least giving people an outlet for their narcissism. There are also good things about those sites for a lot of people - staying in touch with friends and family, staying informed about topics of interest, etc. I personally try to spend as little time on social media as I can. But not because of images. It's really just I don't want to know what everyone's doing at every moment. Information overload.

There will always be something if your mind is addicted to seeking out stimulating images. When I was a kid, it was MTV and my brother's Playboys. Now it's the internet. But even if we didn't have any of these things, there would still be women in real life.

Ultimately, I think it does have to be about personal responsibility for us.

yeah theres a bad tone to this whole thread.. first of all these pictures aren't uploaded with the intention of you masturbating to them, and its not their fault you do that, its your own. Cleanse your mind of the derogatory thoughts. If you want a society that disallows that kind of behaviour, then by all means move to Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan, there you'll find the abuse of women if they show any skin and you can blame them for it.

Its not societies fault you think like that, its your own, and don't get me wrong it has affected me too, but not everyone MO's to Facebook, its just us with our addictions that get triggered by any content!
