What is the meaning of the word normal? According to google the word normal means conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected.

The evidence suggests in this day and age most men watch porn to some extent. There for if most men in this day and age watch porn to some extent, then in this day and age it would be considered normal to use porn, as you're simply conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected.

Even if porn is considered normal in this day and age though, it still goes against our biology.

If you want to be really technical about it you could say watching tv or going on the internet isn't normal, as these things wouldn't of been done by our ancestors a very long time ago, these things wouldn't be done in nature. But in this day and age watching tv and going on the internet are considered normal, because when you do these things you're conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected.

If more men watch porn in this day and age than don't, then this means when you watch porn in this day and age you're conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected.

To the average person, because it’s normal to have a sex drive, it should therefore be normal to watch porn and masturbate. As your definition suggests, it’s “expected.”

Porn does not go against our biology by the way, it’s everything our biology could ever want.

Because we grow up watching it and it is so easy to find porn now.

  4. How is watching people have sex something our biology wants? Our biology wants us to have sex. Our biology wants us to be physically intimate with another person so we can combine our genetic material. It doesn't want us to be physically intimate with a screen/picture/video/sex toy/your own hand. This is why porn creates intimacy disorder and conditions people to use another person's body/appearance for self-gratification rather than seeing it as an act of human physical connection.

Porn is offering endless and effortless supply of arousing material that real life could never compare to, which makes it hard to resist for most people who are looking for a quick release of their physical needs.

News flash: your brain doesn’t know the difference. You’re fantasizing about having real sex, imagining that dudes dick is yours. It’s why they do POV. Your brain thinks you have an unlimited selection of females to perform whatever sexual act you want.

You’re thinking in terms of how our sexuality is meant to be. Just because it’s not what our biology intended doesn’t mean it doesn’t want it, because again, it doesn’t know the difference.

Your brain literally thinks it is getting unlimited women and it is constantly making babies when your binging on PMO.

But it's not exactly great if doing this literally causes you to get erectile dysfunction when your with real women, and you can't make babies the natural real way.

I mean ofcourse your brain naturally likes PMOing. It can like it too much actually, which is the problem.

  7. I believe this is just hairsplitting but I disagree. What our brain wants isn't what our biology wants, which is what you said. Our brain wants dopamine to trigger a biological response. Our biology wants dopamine from a real person to trigger that response. Our brain just wants dopamine, no matter if fake or real.

Sounds like we’re just talking semantics. If you ask me your brain is part of your biology. To use more precise language, I think what OP meant was: sexual drive/ pleasure was only intended as a means to promote intercourse in order to reproduce, rather than be abused through porn. I don’t think it’s accurate to say porn goes against our biology, more accurate would be to say it goes against the intentions of our biology.

I think it's similar to saying does eating fast food go against our bioligy?

The reason we are supposed to eat is to fuel the body and provide the body with nutrients. But usually fast food gives us little fuel, little nutrients and actually causes us harm. But our body still seems to want fast food more than whole healthy food a lot of the time.

I believe fast food is against our bioligy, just like constantly masturbating to porn is against our bioligy. I think sniffing lines of cocaine is against our bioigy, I think injecting heroin is against our bioligy. But that doesn't stop our brains from liking and wanting these things. Our brains can actually like these things and want these things much more than the natural healthy things, the things that actually benefit us in life. Our brains can actually want the things that cause us real harm much more than the things that actually benefit us.

  10. Again, I see it more complex than that. The result of watching porn goes against our biology, meaning having a physical reaction without it being triggered by a physical interaction with a real person. But yes, simply being visually triggered by naked people, be it on the screen or physically in front of you, is equally a natural biological response. But that again only goes for certain genres of porn, that are focused on people/bodies, not specific actions.

What I intended to highlight with my initial comment was that porn is highly attractive to our biology. Which contrasts the term “against.” That’s all. We’re all on the same page here.

  12. I understand, and I just wanted to draw attention to the distinction of visual and physical, visually it might be attractive to our biology, but physically it does go against our biology. But my brain usually tends to overcomplicate things, so sorry for the confusion.
