Hello brother Welcome to NoFap. Why do people quit M (masturbation)? M is a very egregious* habit in my opinion. It turns to addiction when we tend to experience Dopamine effect. What's that? Ambassador is right here... masturbation can create a problem since one can be an addict to dopamine and the whole "pharmacy" in our brains... I think fighting porn as the main trigger for Masturbation will be a great help in controlling (if not eradicating.) self-pleasure habits
Some people quit masturbation because they think it is wrong (for religious reasons etc.) Some give it up for 'scientific' reasons to do with dopamine release. I do not think it is wrong, and I am not sold on the scientific arguments, but I have found that pornography is easier to resist if I give up masturbation. So for me giving up masturbation is not a goal, but a technique to achieve my real goal: giving up pornography.
