Is it because of the lack of dopamine in my brain?

I can see how it can be tougher, I find starting my thoughts with gratitude to be the most uplifting and can put these urges to a temporary rest, you can also try meditating outside as well and out in nature or with music to get some extra feeling of peace before attempting to meditate. Just my suggestions, I also have trouble at times too your not alone in this

It's difficult because I don't like how I find everything 'boring' and my mind gravitates towards my worried problems in life. Not being able to focus on breathwork.

Like I said you may need to start with some gratitude, examine everything in your life and how it came about for starts may be more amusing then just being broadly thankful. Be amazed by the air your breathing how it's been around for centuries, the trees how they've been swaying and planted for hundreds of years, etc. The anxieties of the world is many, but being able to find a mindset of peace and strength and even setting aside time to meditate during these stresses is a win even when you struggle to do so effectively. You are showing that you wish to not let your circumstances determine your thoughts and peace. I wish you luck with whatever your going through and your always welcome to share!

Thank you. Do you think it would be wise for me to have a pre-meditation ritual before sitting down for 10 minutes for my guided meditation? Would that be beneficial?

Sorry, I know I'm jumping in the middle of a conversation but I just wanted to say that a huge part of my meditation practice hasbeen an active practice of the principile of nonjudgmentalism. What I mean is that for decades I have been painstakingly taught not to worry about the supposed quality of my meditation, that can for instance get into defining my self worth by how good or bad I am at meditation which is spiritual pride. It's like meditating on meditation: oh I notice that thoughts atre arising while I meditate. I can gently place my attention back on what I choose to focus on during this time. And there is no requirement as far as time, it's not as if one should be able to not think for some vaguely defined amount of time, meditation at it's best is timeless and this is part of how we get there is not being attached to results. Allowing it to look however it decides to look not my idea for it. When I do long formal meditation I often notice sexual fantasy and I understand that is very common, in my case it's almost always the same weird not that explicit but very tempting fantasy and I just sit, not engaging for or against that just meditating. It is much less common for me with another kind to notice that, to invest a lot of meaning in why and what this means is to walk further and further from a meditative approach to life :)
One way to say all this more simply is "many meditation s are about the breath, I say if you sit still quietly and you are still breathing at the end that's a successful meditation" :)
