Hi, guys. I am a 19 year old male college student from NC. Im one day in to my NoFap journey... and I'm not entirely sure where to start, so I guess I'll just start at the beginning. I've watched porn for years, since probably around 12 years old. It went from an every once in a while thing and snowballed in to an everyday ritual. Masturbating to porn multiple times a day, planning my days around fap sessions. I really never thought of it as a harmful activity. If anything I was releasing stress, as well as releasing sexual tension without actually having sex with strangers like the other idiots from high school who ended up with STDs or kids at 17 (or both). It seemed like a win win, until I woke up one day and I'd graduated high school a virgin. Over the summer when I was 18 I decided to really try to lose my virginity, or at least get a girlfriend and eventually have sex that meant something. I'm not a super attractive guy, but there were plenty of girls interested in me and I decided to try and score with one on my 18th birthday. We made it all the way to home base, from the make out session to undressing, to me giving her oral sex, then it came down to showtime and I realized... "oh shit" I'm not even hard. Needless to say I didn't lose my Virginity that day. I just chalked the whole experience up to being nervous for my first time until a few months later the same thing happens with another girl... then a few months later with a 3rd girl. Something was horribly wrong, I could get hard multiple times a day to beat my meat to my iPhone, but not to 3 different attractive naked women?! What was wrong with me? How could this be happening? I'm 18 years old, I'm in my prime and can't even get it up for a sexy girl in my bed? I thought I was a freak, a loser. But then I stumbled upon an article on porn induced erectile dysfunction... and it all made sense. I had taught my own brain since the day I was able to google that I was supposed to get hard when I waswatching porn. I had trained my mind and body to be aroused by lies, which in turn disabled me from experiencing the true meaning of sex. And now, after reading and hearing the success stories of others, I'm ready to retrain my mind and body. I'm ready to be more confident and comfortable with my body, relationships, and sexuality. I'm ready to make a change for the better. I now know that I have caused these problems, and now I'm ready to fix them. With theencouragement and help of this amazing community I've stumbled upon by chance, Ithink I can make a change for the better. Please, share your stories with me, and let's all go through this journey together. One day at a time...

  2. pmo does cause PIED

Step 1 - admit you have a problem. Step Zero - this sh*t has got to stop. Which are you at?

NoFap works if you work it. Ready to go to work?

You are in the right place. My experience here is that I needed to learn the program and also get involved with the community.

The best resource I found was the “Getting Started with NoFap” guide. It is on the NoFap homepage and you can download it for free from this link https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/new-users-list-of-rebooting-resources.50878/

    Then, watch this video:

It is really good and explains so much about how the blasting of porn images into the brain in high definition on high speed internet while slamming porn sounds into the ears with headphones can literally change the way your brain demands sexual stimulation.

The video explains it better than I can.

Also, a great page is https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/new-users-list-of-rebooting-resources.50878/ my experience is that by reading every link and watching every video, I learned so much.

Then, I got involved with the community. I'm not anyone special on here, I don't have any magic powers. But, I can say hello to new members, post my journal entries, remember to “like” peoples posts, and offer my experience, strength and hope where appropriate.

Looking forward to seeing you around on the forums,

    L

PS - Think of pmo like a wolf. Stay near the center of the group with the winners and the wolf has a more difficult time finding you. But, stray near the edges of the community and the wolf can pick you off.

  3. More work for you.... (NoFap Works if you Work it).

One of the ways I got involved with the fellowship was by reading some really great journals. Click "Watch Thread" in the upper right to get alerts when new posts are made. Here are just a few:

There are many more, and you can discover them on your own. But, these are great places to start.

This is a work in progress. So, if a journal has changed or is no longer active, look around there are some amazing journals on here.

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and sometimes challenge you but not judge you.

The enemy is here to steal, kill and destroy. What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?

I've become more of an outdoorsman this past year, I love fishing with buddies of mine, and hunting on my own gives me hours alone in the woods to really sit and think and focus. I've basically plunged myself in to three things lately: work, school, and hobbies. I also plan to start back on my diet and exercise routine on the 1st of the year. I'm really looking forward to making changes for the first time in my life. I feel like nofap is going to be one of the most positive changes I will make in this new year!

I have admitted to myself that this is a problem, and that I'm going to fix it. I plan to make many positive changes this new year. Nofap will help with all of these changes. This process should help with my confidence, my relationships, my self discipline, and channel my energy to more positive outlets. Thanks for the links and help. I plan to be fap free for the long haul!
