Why does porn exactly cause PIED? You would think it would only increase the libido but my take on this is, yes it does cause a spike in libido but for a short time. The more you watch it, the more you become desensitized to it, to the point seeing a naked woman in front of you wont even arouse you much anymore, witch makes it ever more difficult to have a strong wood. So in the long term it causes PIED. Anyone disagree on this? What's your take on this?
Porn, specifically Internet porn, is too much novelty, too soon. It's the hit of seeing something new, something different, which a part of us perceives as something better, in rapid succession, that spoils the brain. We don't have time to attach to any one target, it's the rotation that becomes alluring, the variety itself that turns us on. Then you add the precision of M, where you know yourself if you want to speed up or back off, and a real partner who doesn't change every 30 seconds and doesn't do exactly what you want when you want it... I mean it's a real person so that's cool, but your brain isn't conditioned for it. That, according to its training, isn't what's hot. So while a portion of your brain wants to do real stuff and there's definitely performance pressure/anxiety (which contributes to killing the boner under the best of circumstances), another portion says "I know S and this ain't it, I'll send the blood flow when you give me what I'm used to." And there's your PIED. This didn't used to happen with magazine porn, I don't think, or even video porn. They weren't dynamic enough, skipping the boring parts was clunky and awkward, plus the cameras weren't as good as they are now so you had to choose between really good stills or grainy VHS. It cost money, there was potential embarrassment to get it, so porn wasn't as accessible or as powerful as endless streaming HD video in the privacy of your own home. Now it's stronger and easier to get, so more people are more heavily addicted to porn and PIED is a thing.
