What is dub techno?

    I’m listening to a new kind of techno called dub techno recently. Apparently it’s techno mixed with dub music. But there’s no explanation for exactly what dub music is. What is dub music? Why does dub techno sound so different to all of the other types of techno?

    Dub is basically music created by remixing other existing recordings, usually reggae, soul, etc and usually creating something more pared-down, instrumental and rhythmic. 'Traditional' techno is, I guess, largely created purely electronically, with a few samples here and there, whereas with 'dub' it's almost all sampled, then manipulated, and rearranged to make something new.
