What exactly is a Porn Substitute?

I hear this term used a lot, and I would like some advice on how to counteract and avoid porn substitutes whenever possible.

From my understanding, a porn Substitute is softcore porn. But isn't that just the same thing as porn anyway?

I think a psub is anything you're looking at that you're hoping to get a small hit of pleasure, but isn't porn. For me, it's always a mistake that leads to a relapse. I tell myself going on social media pages of girls that put on racy material on their pages, isn't porn and it's okay, but really I'm being a clown. I'm particularly susceptible to twitter.

 

I truly hate to break it to you but there are no substitutes for porn. Anybody who says there is has uranium-plated bulletproof ignorance.

"Just swich from hardcore to softcore". Spoiler Alert: That's not how it works. Even if you make the switch from hardcore pornography to softcore. You did nothing you are still watching porn. Switching from hardcore to softcore pornography is like eating a bunch of candy that has fat in it then switching to fat-free candy in hopes you won't get so fat. They both still have sugar in them which is making you unhealthy. Same thing with porn just because you made the switch from hardcore to softcore does not mean you quit porn. You still have the exact same addiction.
