I am on the journey of stopping PMO. This is my first week, and having lots of negative feelings about self worth, low self esteem, and lack of motivation.

Are these normal side effects when stop consuming porn?

how long they last, and what good ways you think are good to cope?

    Thank you!

Well in my experience, I feel like a G in front of everybody.

In my head I feel like: "AHAHAAAA, I can control myself, and you probably can't you dumbass."

So basically the low self-esteem part is going to be demolished.

For the self-worth part, this won't be fixed by abstaining from PMO,

PMO happens because you're not feeling self-worth.

    Now why's that you ask?

Because you're not doing anything of value.

Gym, work, women, accomplishment, friendships, parties, etc.

This is how to fix it my G, lmk if this helps.

Yup. Check out Your Brain on Porn, Gary Wilson's work. Difficult to say how long they last; everyone's different. Best to go through them now rather than relapse and keep going through them again and again.

You probably aren't even onto the withdrawal symptoms yet. These are just the normal symptoms I experience after a relapse. It takes me about a full week to start feeling good about myself again

The withdrawal symptoms I have experienced are heightened levels of stress and increased, recurring sexual thoughts.

Totally normal and means your reboot is moving in the right direction.

The best thing you can do is accept them. Don't try and numb them or distract yourself from them, just let them keep coming up. The more they come up, the quicker your recovery will be.
