weed and games empowered my P addiction

For years on (3 to be exact) I was constantly feeling like shit. Relapsing, playing games all day, smoking weed everyday. I was trying to quit porn at that time, but I couldn't, I always ended up relapsing at 2-3 day streaks. Constantly feeling bad and depressed, feeling ugly, feeling shame...

I've been trying all those years to quit P, thinking it was going to fix everything, like magic. Thinking it will make me a better person, get rid of my depression.

3 years later I have stopped smoking weed so heavily. Eventually this led to the realization that video gaming is bad for me, so I deleted (most) my games. The time spent in front of the screen dropped drastically and where do we get PMO, from screens.

3 years later my streaks are on average just a tiny little bit better (5-10 days compared to 3-5 before) But my overall well being is at a totally different place.

The moral of the story? We often look for some new productive habits to replace the addiction, to try and fight it, but we often forget how much time we spend in front of screens, or using drugs, or just ruining ourselves with activities that can also be considered addictions or addictive. Sometimes quitting PMO is not the only solution, look around yourself, is there anything else holding you down, and are you holding on to it, thinking that once you quit PMO everything will be better, think about it, how do you enable the urges, are you often bored, are you often on phone, are you often entertaining youreslf, getting easy dopamine and rewards, do you gamble? There is so much more in life that allows us to fap and that makes us feel like shit. Get rid of all of it, not only P.

But quitting porn should be a top priority above other "bad habits",
