Hey guys, I'm looking for any phone apps that can help block unwanted websites or other apps that you guys have used to help curb your addiction. Any parental control apps or similar that you rate highly would be helpful.

I´ve been on search for that as well, since I didn´t find something working as I wanted to, I did boot my phone, deleting all browsers and then deleted the google play app so I can´t just simply redownload them.
Works for me and all I need is WhatsApp and the phone anyways.
There is no need to waste time with other apps as well

That's a really smart idea. I wonder if there is a safe browser. I use Google a shot ton for research. It would just be great to block all the other nsfw stuff

That's a serious problem when browsing online, let me know if you find anything

I would go for an URL blocker, so you can block all domains that you know, how ever, you shouldn´t be able to access the controls afterwards, and that´s where it becomes tricky :/

For firefox, there is an app called leechblock that has the function to only access the controls on certain days, however it doesn´t work on android properly.
You can also try out if you can turn off the picture loading function of your browser, so no unexpected triggers appear, it also prevents binge watching youtube cause without the thumbnails, somehow YouTube's magic disappears ^^

I downloaded a browser called spin. It is set up kinda like a school library computer. Any websites than potentially have nsfw content (like reddit) gets blocked. Then I deleted all the other web browser apps I have on my phone. So far I am really liking it

for now, it seems to work, right? :D

I just know from the past, that when the deamon had full control over my head, I would just search for anything getting back a proper browser where nothing is blocked, on my computer, only firefox is there and browser download pages are blocked and reinstalling windows to get back windows explorer would be way too crazy.

However, on your phone, you can simply redownload other browsers thanks to the playstore.
You have to think from that point, that one day, someone else is going to try getting some p-material with the stuff you have and you have to bullet proof prevent that.
I´ve solved it by getting full admin rights for my phone by booting it and deleting the playstore.

Since I am 100% sure I can´t access any p content anymore, I think way less about it in general.

If you are using mainly wi-fi connection at home I can recommend setting DNS server address to OpenDNS one:
    https://www.opendns.com/setupguide/#familyshield

Since it works like a blacklist, and not a content-related block it doesn't provide 100% security. Also it blocks whole domains, so you'll have whole websites blocked, because they have nsfw sections, but there's for example reddit, with all of his nsfw subreddits unblocked. You can find ways to bypass it, but overall it works quite well for me as a remainder that "I shoudn't be there" anytime I start searching for porn.

It doesn't work on mobile internet though.

Get rid of your Android and get an iPhone. :)

I'm only half-kidding. The reality is that you can block all porn access on an iPhone, and it's very easy and bulletproof. But with Android, it's damn near impossible. Almost every option has a workaround, a loophole, or can just be undone.
