    Hi guys,

Im a 21 year old male who has consistently watched porn since about 14 years old. Recently my desire to watch porn has gone from once or twice a week to at least twice a day and its starting to drastically affect my work and relationship with my fiance.

I think my main problem is due to my work where sometimes I work out of town. My fiance also works nights where i work days so im often alone at night. I also do part time uni which stops me from being able to have consistent hobbies or play sports.

I dont want to blame my issue on something else because i know alot of it is to do with my state of mind and its something i want to really tackle before it turns into something else.

Does anyone have any advice for someone starting out? Ive tried to stop a few times and have lasted about 3 weeks before relapsing and it becoming worse than before.

    Thanks

    Hello friend!

I have had 3 weeks streaks more than once (considering I was masturbaing 3 times a day, 5 times a week before I began nofap), so that may add to my credibility as someone who offers suggestions.

I suggest you: 1. delete all the porn collections you have and start accepting that you WILL have to be free from porn now or 30 years later in your life. So accept that porn will no longer be a part of you until you actually make that into a reality.
    2. install k9 web protection to block porn and other sites which trigger you to masturbate.
    3. do 15 minute meditations daily to reconnect with your sources of power- discipline, courage, wisdom, willpower, compassion, and awareness.
    4. Understand your addictions and be patient with your urges. Love the nofap challenge and don't see it as a means to an end.

Also, I've been trying for over a year and I've learnt that we CANNOT rely on time to make us better because I've spent months trying to overcome porn and masturbation but made no progress. You must both prevent urges from happening AND respond to them properly. The response part is important too. If you get strong urges and you don't fantasize/watch porn and masturbate, the addiction will lose its power over you. You must be ready to abstain! I don't want you to end up trying to quit for 10 years (as I've read that there are guys here who were like that). Just do this now!
