Since I decided to take serious action against my porn addiction - I spent many hours on learning about what is it and how to beat it! The most valuable sources for me are the videos and I want to share some of them here with you, in hope that it can help to some of you. I would also appreciate if I discover more and new helpful videos that you find helpful. It would be nice if you share your favorites with a short summary or one sentence takeaway. Thanks!

Ok well I was about to drop this video below in a new batshit wild and crazy but totally legit science clubhouse type thread where anti-porn scientists bash porn using scientists with hard data and logic. Not like personal attacks just raw science combined with cold, hard logic.

But I think it will fit better here and no responded yet!

Your Brain on Porn is the research by Gary Wilson that shows the effects of porn addiction... which is pretty darn SCARY.

THE BOOK Your Brain on Porn by Gary Wilson - http://amzn.to/1mXZOR0

Scientists in the field of neuroscience and brain imaging are showing in study after study that high speed internet porn can change the brain just like drug addiction. This wreaks havoc on the reward/pleasure system in the brain resulting in devastating effects.

Dopamine acts as the neurotransmitter that initiates the drive and motivation to seek a reward such as sex. When overstimulated by hardcore drugs such as heroin or methamphetamine, the dopamine system is overloaded. The same occurs with chronic pornography viewing. Being exposed to multiple, highly attractive, virtual partners and a dizzying variety of novelty, your brain dumps so much dopamine into your system that it signals a molecule called deltafosb to be released. Deltafosb begins rewiring the brain to endlessly crave more and more of this digital video erotica.

    Addiction Related Brain Changes
    1. Sensitization
    2. Desensitization
    3. Hypofrontality
    4. Dysfunctional stress circuits

I just copied that from the description. I tried to copy and paste the entire description but it reformatted and is a pain to edit on a touchscreen.

My thoughts? Porn users who deny the science are addicts in denial. How many people use heroin and meth without getting hooked? Not actually looking for an answer to that.

Ok here is something a little more constructive as opposed to the harsh reality of your brain on porn.

Meditation changes the brain in a way that one could say is the exact opposite of addiction related changes. Current studies keep revealing new scientific information about it if that is up your alley. I started meditating before I knew about the science revealing the benefits and I actually don't meditate to get benefits per se but it is fun to learn about them.
