Unable to start... hindered by my past self

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Deleted Account, Jun 24, 2018.

  1. Hi everybody! I started my NoFap journey almost two years ago by now. My greatest achievement was about 150 days without porn and masturbation, ended one year ago. Since then, I feel like I am hindered by my better self of that time, like I always want to come back at that point but I feel it’s too difficult. I look at my few days and think: ok, it’s not so much, I can allow myself to watch porn and masturbate, I will start again tomorrow. And like this for a year by now. Usually my critical time is between 10 and 15 days, but lately, as I finished my exams and I have a lot of free time, only 2 days are enough to relapse. I walk a lot but then I come back home and I feel the hurge to fap. I feel stuck in this situation and I don’t know how to come out of this, especially because of this comparison I do with my past self. Thank you for every suggestion or experience you are going to share with me. I will appreciate it so much. Good luck to everyone!

I'll be 100% honest with you man, the only reason you'll ever stop watching porn completely is because the reasons you have to not watch it are stronger than the reasons you have to watch it. Furthermore, I'm not even sure at this point that I'm completely done with porn. I'm not convinced that it's a completely bad thing, if you use it in moderation and keep away from most hardcore genres. But with that being said, it shouldn't control your life, if it's becoming an issue again then you need to get rid of it so you can focus on the important aspects of your life. Work comes first, play comes second. Long term, I think you should find girlfriend who can satisfy your sexual needs instead of having to turn to porn, because if you keep coming back to porn, clearly you're lacking a sexual outlet in your life.

  3. One Day At A Time. Don't worry beyond today. Stay clean each day and the weeks, months, etc, take care of themselves.
